So where were you two assholes back when George W. Douche was blowing a 200 billion dollar surplus on tax breaks for rich dudes and unfunded wars?

I'm fine with all of that, but I also want to see Bush's sweetheart tax cuts for miilionaires and billionares rolled back. The dems caved on their entitlements, but the reps won't cave on their protection of the top 2% of the elite of America. I just like to see a little compromise.

It'll be interesting to see what this deal does to my paycheck, since middle-class federal employees now seem to be the convenient whipping boy for all of the federal governments ills. Instead of gigging Warren Buffet, Oprah Winfrey, and the rest of them, they go after guys struggling to raise families.

Nice work Tea Party. Fuck the middle class.

Sorry. So many red herrings out there I got you and Wedgie confused. :coffee:

I'd be all for pulling completely out of Germany, Japan, Korea, Turkey, Israel, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, England, Spain, Italy and any other cuntry where we're pissing away China's dollars defending the free world against the scourge of.....whatever it is we're defending them against.

Let those fuckers prop THEMSELVES up for a while and see how it tastes. There ain't a ONE of those countries that has even the slightest hint of thanks or respect for all we've sacrificed as a country in THEIR name...while we spiral down the debt drain.

Fuck 'em all... :nod: :nod: :nod: :nod:

Great question, and a key component to lessening the deficit. If we got rid of our World Police hats and started concentrating on our crumbling infrastructure and taking care of domestic issues (e.g. make the US relevant as a producing nation, not a net consumer) we'd be much better off.

Ok Z, here's another one, why has "entitlement" turned into a bad name like "Christian" has?

If we are referring to social security and medicare as entitlements are these benefits not taxes first? Pity the platform that goes about slashing and burning these as the end users actually paid for them.

If you are talking about military retirements and their benefits as the dirty word "entitlement" are these benefits not the result of the promises made to these recipients at the time of their service? So are they not also entitled to the benefits?

Just checking, and again where were all these ass hats back when George W Bush was trashing our economy, jerking off to Nancy Reagan pics and listening to Rush Limbaugh??

Now all of a sudden its all the "entitlements" that are the problem with our economy.

Yes and we're primarily defending american business interests and keeping the Haliburtons happy. More welfare for major corporations.

Nice work Tea Party. **** the middle class.
Typical class envy towards a group that already has the highest income tax bracket (35%) + uncapped medicare payroll tax (doubled under Obamacare from 1.45% to 2.9%) + state income taxes. They (the top 2%, and I'm far from one of them, likely never will be one of them) already pay MORE than their fair share:

Latest income tax data (08')
Top 1%: earned 20% AGI, paid 38% of income taxes
Top 5%: earned 34.73% AGI, paid 58.72% of income taxes
http://www.taxfoundation.org/news/show/250.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And yet you have donks on here and in in media continously whining about the Top 2% not paying their fair share. :roll:

Its not just "millionaires and billionaires" Obama wants to hammer. To Obama, anyone making 200k/couple 250k is "rich". You could tax anyone making above that at 100% and it wouldn't get rid of the deficit. The US has a spending problem, not a taxation problem.

Reagan tried it the way you suggested. Going along with a tax increase on the "rich" with a promise of so called budget "cuts". We ended up with the tax increase and no budget "cuts" but massive increases, and an exploding national debt. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, but that is what you advocate. I e-mailed that to both Senator Toomey and my congressman Meehan and how I think this debt deal is a turd, that the only way to stop the massive deficts, exploding national debt and interest, and from the US becoming the next Greece would be for a balanced budget amendment, even if they had to raise taxes in exchange for getting it passed.

Newsflash: Most of the tea party is middle class. They're trying to prevent the middle class a couple of decades from now being fucked by reaching the point of no return: national debt getting so high that the US simply won't be able to make the interest payments, fucking us and the next generation with a depression that will take decades to recover from.

Wedgie, every day that goes by WITHOUT Medicare or Welfare or Social Security or military benefits reform is ANOTHER day of promises our government is making on the backs of future generations. And yes, "Entitlement" IS a dirty word when 60% of the budget is spent placating people with things they think they're "entitled" to. But to suggest reform of Social Security or Welfare or Medicare is tantamount to political suicide so politicians more concerned with getting reelected than actually fixing what ails America fiddle while Washington burns...

And again that is because we the people have been taxed for social security and medicare, we paid for it, and we expect to see the benefits when the time comes. Cutting into the program, no matter how badly it has been run is in effect theft against those who paid the taxes. These need to be made solvent, not cut.

So pony up sport.

Perhaps you're not listening: the reform needs to be for FUTURE recipients. Instead of attempting to squeeze more blood from a turnip, the "pain" needs to be felt from those who aren't yet receiving benefits.

Personally, I would be thrilled if they'd just let me walk away from this point forward and not have to pay anything else INTO the system. They can have all the money they've squeezed me for...I'm under no illusion that it'll be there when I turn 75 (which I anticipate to be the retirement age required to get a "full" share, whatever THAT means by then)....just cut me loose and I'll take care of myself.

Well isn't that the way it works? I am paying the taxes, feeling the pain, and I am not receiving the benefits, raise the damn tax and get it going, we are the most undertaxed people in the world, and apparently the worlds biggest pussies.

We just need to raise those taxes for those future recipients and have them pay for their entitlement just like the rest of us has.

Biden calls tea party members "Terrorists"
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0811/60421.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

"Vice President Joe Biden joined House Democrats in lashing tea party Republicans Monday, accusing them of having “acted like terrorists” in the fight over raising the nation’s debt limit.

Biden was agreeing with a line of argument made by Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Pa.) at a two-hour, closed-door Democratic Caucus meeting.

We have negotiated with terrorists,” an angry Doyle said, according to sources in the room. “This small group of terrorists have made it impossible to spend any money.”....."
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/08 ... z1Tp0W7rPh" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Doyle, you jackass, its not a small group of people- it #s in the tens of millions. And it hasn't made it impossible to spend any money. They haven't even made it impossible to spend money the govt doesn't have. All they did was make it a little harder.

So to Biden and the rest of the donk's there people who simply want the govt to balance its budget and not continue to spend $ it doesn't have, explode the national debt and screw the next generation are terrorists. Fuck you Biden you arrogant fucking prick. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:
