I noticed you have been down on religion every since that one priest shared his anal warts with you.D1B wrote:

Suggesting elimination of religious beliefs by govt. edict somehow "frees" people to develop culturally?
You do realize how asinine that sounds?
The government should though quit promoting religion and eliminate its tax exempt status. MOF, like with cigarettes, the government should require mandatory warning signs outside of churches to warn shitheads like you what they're getting into.
Funny, the western world flourished both culturally and intellectually, when mandatory religion was cast aside, and the most oppressive and violent and intolerant countries are the most religious.

Lets see. Comparing states by wealth by median income would be better than comparing them by avg income or per capita GDP for obvious reasons.kalm wrote:Poverty and education levels might have something to with it. That would explain WV. countries with a high level of income equality like Norway have lower crime rates. Happy, smart people tend to not be killers - regardless of race.BDKJMU wrote:
Demographics is probably the biggest of several factors.
Norway intentional homicide rate per 100k avg for decade close to .90. Norway 90 some percent (94?) white.

US, 96'-09' state rankings by murder rate, states with 90=% white population:
50. New Hampshire: .80, 93.9% white.
48, Vermont: 1.1, 95.3% white
48. Iowa: 1.1, 91.3 % white
44. North Dakota: 1.5, 90% white
42. Maine: 2.0, 95.2% white
38. Wyoming: 2.5, 90.7% white (tied with WI)
22. WV 4.6, 93.9% (tied with DE) (still below the national avg of 5.0). WV obviously the outlier here.
19 of the 24 states with the percent of the population over 80% white showed up in the bottom 25 in the murder rate (exceptions being Ohio, Indiana, WV, Pennsylvania, and Missouri, and only 2 of them, PA and MO, were above the national avg of 5.0).
Scroll down over 1/2 way to:
"NATIONWIDE MURDER RATES BY 2009 RANK, HIGHEST TO LOWEST (2008 to 1996 Shown for Comparison) MURDER RATES PER 100,000 PEOPLE"
http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/murder- ... tate#MRord" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Demographic breakdown by state, about 1/3rd way down, can adjust rankings for a specified race:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographi ... _ethnicity" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Its not politically correct to say, but it appears demographics in terms of race has a lot to do with the murder rate in the US and is a major factor (but not the only one of course) in explaining the difference between the US and Norway's rate.
Yeah, you do that.BDKJMU wrote:Lets see. Comparing states by wealth by median income would be better than comparing them by avg income or per capita GDP for obvious reasons.kalm wrote:

2011 US Census date- State Rankings -- Statistical Abstract of the United States
MEDIAN HOUSEHOLD INCOME, 2008:
http://www.census.gov/compendia/statab/ ... ank33.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Bottom 10 states median income along with state murder rate rank from highest to lowest:
50. Mississippi, #6/6.4 (tied with Missouri)
49. West Virginia #22/4.6 (tied with Delaware)
48. Arkansas #10/6.2 (tied with Oklahoma)
47. Kentucky #27/4.1
46. Alabama, #5/6.9
45. Oklahoma, #10/6.2 (tied with Arkansas)
44. New Mexico, #2/8.7
43. Tennessee #4/7.3
42. Montana #33/2.9
41. Louisiana, #1/11.8
You expect an inverse relationship here, but you have 3 outliers, Kentucky, Montana, West VA
Top 10 states median income along with state murder rate rank from highest to lowest:
1. Maryland, #3/7.7
2. New Jersey, #27/3.7
3. Connecticut, #30/3.0
4. Alaska, #29/3.1
5. Hawaii, #43/1.7
6. Massachusetts #34/2.6 (tied with South Dakota)
7. New Hampshire, #50/.8
8. Virginia, #24/4.4
9. California, #18/5.3
10. Washington, #33/2.7
Again you expect an inverse relationship here, but half the states are outliers. Of the 4 wealthiest in median income + VA, none of them are in the bottom 20 in murder rates. Heck, look at Maryland, highest median income and #3 in murder rate.
Again, NATIONWIDE MURDER RATES

So yes, there appears to be some correlation between wealth and the murder rate. But not nearly as strong as the race one.
Maybe tomorrow I'll look up education level by state to compare it to the murder rate by state to see what that shows.

I'll save you the time. High population density, poverty rates, and low levels of crime lead to higher murder rates. Darkies tend to fall into these categories for a variety of historical reasons. It still has nothing to do with pigmentation.BDKJMU wrote:Lets see. Sounds plausible. When you don't have the world hating you, like we do, you don't expect this shit and don't need a trillion dollar defense/homeland security budget and infrastructure.SDHornet wrote:A friend of mine was telling me that the Norwegian SWAT team (I forget the actual name of them) and police had a complete meltdown when responding to the shooting. Apparently dispatchers weren’t fielding calls about the shooting as they were only interested about calls regarding the bombing for the first half hour or so during the rampage. Then it took the police a long time to get on the island where the camp was located as they had to drive up the 22 miles up the coast (which took them 45 minutes) and then hop on a boat. Apparently their lone helicopter could seat a total of 4 people, but it didn’t matter as both of their pilots were on “holiday”. Then the lone police boat had to be launched, which was an inflatable boat which when loaded with the police response team, was overloaded and had to be bailed as they made their way to the island. Basically from what I heard it was a complete clusterfuck of a response by local authorities.
I have no idea if any of this is accurate as I heard this all second hand…and I doubt I care enough about this to fish up some links.

Most of em are better. Look at us SD. We're the most violent nation on earth and have been so for at least a couple decades. We're greedy, fat, dumb, arrogant and two-faced.SDHornet wrote:Yeah but Eruozone countries are much better than the US (D1B wrote:
