Powerful explosions shook central Oslo on Friday afternoon, blowing out the windows of several government buildings, including one housing the office of the Norwegian prime minister. Media reports said that at least two people were killed and several more injured; a spokeswoman for the prime minister, Jens Stoltenberg, said he was “safe and not hurt.”
SCAA loud explosion shattered windows Friday at the government headquarters in Oslo which includes the prime minister's office, injuring several people. Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg is safe, government spokeswoman Camilla Ryste told The Associated Press.
Shortly after the apparent bomb attack, a man dressed as a police officer opened fire on a youth political meeting on the island of Utoya in the Oslo fjord, about 25 miles from the city, the police said. There were initial reports that Prime Minister Stoltenberg was scheduled to attend the meeting.

Why would I come up with an excuse? Terrorism is terrorism; it's never right...ever. Did you even read my opinions in the other thread? It was about judging individuals based on the actions of others, not excusing terrorism.andy7171 wrote:They deported a radical muslim cleric with terrorist ties earlier this week.

Trip was just playing the part, but now that he has been outed, the FEDS will be knocking on his door very very soon to scoop him up. It was just a matter of time.andy7171 wrote:I'm the guy who pokes people to piss them off to get a reaction. Thats the role I play in here.∞∞∞ wrote: Why would I come up with an excuse? Just pita nachos, and no salsa either...only humus. You also have to sign away the 72 "virgins" clause. Allah will only give you nachos if you settle for 72 whores. Extras are simply too much to ask for in this ecomony. Gotta make some sacrifices, ya know?grizzaholic wrote:Allah Snackbar??? Does he have nachos?∞∞∞ wrote: *sigh* It's true. Allah Snackbar!

On the other hand, he'd better hide his identity from the bad guys for that "... snackbar" bit.
Re: Norway terror attack
Local Norwegian television is naming Anders Behring Breivik as the gunman. There's a person from Oslo with a Facebook account of that name that fits the description, but I'm not sure if it's appropriate to post it, especially since this is all unconfirmed news, at least in the states.

Is that similar to native Iowegian?dbackjon wrote:The camp shooter has been confirmed to be a native Norwegian

Re: Norway terror attack
Breaking news is that the suspect killed at least 80 at the youth camp. For one man to actually kill 80 in a single spree is ridiculous in the most upsetting way. Wow...this dude was seriously fucked up.
edit: Aaaand of course Norway wouldn't have the death penalty.

Re: Norway terror attack
Apparantly this would be the worst mass shooting by a lone gunman in history. The tiny bright spot is that he's a coward and didn't end up killing himself. Now he'll get to face the wrath of nation in-person. And even though the death penalty is abolished in Norway, I have a gut feelin' they're gonna make an exception here. Let's all pray that it's slow and painful.

It's a sad state off affairs when people are more concerned about the political or religious background of a person involved over the suffering of family members of the victims and survivors.

Thoughts and prayers to the families who lost a member in this vile, cowardly attack...
Hopefully, Norwegian politicians will pass tough gun control laws that will prevent something like this from ever happening again...
Whats that you say...Norway passed some of the most draconian gun laws in Europe back in 2009 with the claim that the government is prepared to protect its citizens???
How's that working?????
