Gruden asked Appalachian State University product Dexter Coakley and Howard about their feelings when Appalachian State upset Michigan in 2007, 34-32.

“I’m not rubbing it in,” said Coakley said. “But he knows about the Black and Gold.”

“I was working on ESPN’s GameDay and I had some hurt feelings,” Howard said.

He still looks like a bad man. Still arguably the best to every don the black and gold. Congrats to DC, indeed.

One heck of a college LB! I remember Tommy Haskins turning the corner, confronting Coakley on the perimeter. Sometimes Coakley made a crisp, good form tackle. Sometimes Haskins did juke him, got an extra 10+ yards.
