USA PATRIOT is a cock-up in many aspects, but I don't want the President to throw out the baby with the bathwater on that one. There are some components of the act (based on some of the 9-11 Commission's more assertive suggestions) that were sorely needed. Intelligence sharing between agencies is one of the mandates of the act.
