Republican Candidates For POTUS; Who do you like?
I personally like Johnson, Huntsman, Cain, and Pawlenty (in that order)
I like Johnson but I doubt he'll win anything. I think Huntsman is classy and can line up with many of his political positions. I had my doubts about Cain in terms of his experience in politics but I think he has plenty of credentials in leadership positions in the private sector (CEO of God Father's Pizza, Chairman of the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank, leader at his church, etc) and I think he's a very interesting candidate, who speaks da truf about the economy. Pawlenty is good too, however he's too economically compromising as a Governor to be my first choice (seeing as I disagree with his social platform).
The only candidate I wouldn't vote over Obama or 3rd party is Bachmann or Palin (who would totally fuck up the entire deal for the RNC)

Is YT off the Ron Paul bandwagon?
If I had to pick one it would probably be Johnson. As I said before, I'd vote for Gates over Obama... so, he'd be my man if he was an actual candidate.
Also, not entirely opposed to Thaddeus McCotter who entered the race this week. At least he can make a power chord. That's something that this country needs more of, for sure.

Nobody is setting me on fire.
I know a few things about Huntsman, personal knowledge form some collegues who worked with him in Beijing over the last couple years. I like his ethic, but his social stances will hurt him with the nutroot right.

Re: Republican Candidates For POTUS; Who do you like?
I'd never heard of Thaddeus McCotter prior to the past week. I was on vaction channel surfing and I saw the speech he made to announce his candicacy. No question I like him better than any Presidential candidate of any Party I've seen for the past 20 years at least in terms of what he said and how he presented himself. Also, not entirely opposed to Thaddeus McCotter who entered the race this week. At least he can make a power
When I saw him I said something to my wife who is on the Lousiana Republican Central Committee. Her eyes lit uup and she said she's seen him at some kind of Republican meeting she went to where people made speeches. She said that by the time he made his speech most people had left the room but she was there and she was really, really impressed by him.
But I doubt if he gains any traction because his name isn't out there. At this point, if he does gain traction and if the first impression I had of him turns out to be reasonably accurate and there aren't too many actual positions I find disturbing, there is no question that's who I'm going to be voting for. Though I'm not registered as a Republican I can vote for him in the open Louisiana Republican primary. Then if by some incredible miracle he gains traction and wins the Republican nomination I can vote for him in the general election.

After Daniels dropped out, I've been scratching my head. I voted for Romney in the '08 Delaware primary, but my zeal for him has cooled. Maybe Pawlenty, if I can get by the religious stuff. We'll see who's left standing.

Obviously Paul doesn't have a chance, and Johnson doesn't either...which is a shame. Did anyone else see that Paul is not running for re-election to the House to focus on the Presidency?youngterrier wrote:I like Johnson more than Paul, but neither have a chanceSkjellyfetti wrote:Is YT off the Ron Paul bandwagon?![]()

Yeah, I think it's going to be a long campaign season with little to be excited about.

I think the Republicans are doomed. Thier only viable option would be Romney and possibly Pawlenty. The others are not serious contenders. I think Americans will chose anyone over Palin.
