Of course I do not believe that the law should not evolve. In fact, not even the founders believed that. That is precisely why they included a constitutional amendment process within the constitution itself. Many of them also believed that constitutional conventions should be held every generation (about 20 years or so) to develop and submit amendments to the states for ratification. James Madison planned to hold a constitutional convention during his presidency but it was postponed indefinitely by the War of 1812. His successors, for whatever reason, did not see fit to hold a constitutional convention. If they had, the War of Northern Aggression might have been avoided.
