That’s the kind of spirit that I have, too.” But unfortunately for historically challenged Bachmann, as the Washington Times points out, the John Wayne born in Waterloo is John Wayne Gacy, the notorious serial killer who murdered 33 teenage boys and young men, not the iconic Western actor. John Wayne was born in Winterset, Iowa, 3 hours from Waterloo. John Wayne Gacy was born in Chicago, but did live in Waterloo as an adult.

The shitty part about the subsidies is just how hard it is to conclusively prove that she benefited directly from it... even though it's pretty clear she did, there is enough obfuscation to make it deniable.

Well, kind of like if I was to get a pile of free money from the government, I could say it did not benefit me. Maybe it in fact made me a worse person than I was. In that case wouldn't the government be responsible for the damage the pile of free money did to me??
