Oh...but of course IF IT WILL SAVE LIVES it's always justifed regardless.
That's why we also need to impose a $2 per mile mileage tax. You know, you let the government provide for monitoring how much mileage you put on your vehicle then at the end of the year they total you up and charge you $2 per mile. Why, that would probably save thousands....no...TENS of thousands of lives! That's because hardly anybody could afford to drive except for if they REALLY, REALLY needed to! No more of that nasty, dangerous habit of driving JUST for the SELFISH purpose of having FUN! Who could be against something that will SAVE LIVES!!!!
