Well why would anyone have given 3-8 NDSU a vote last year?

I thought I read ASU fans saying that they think this is going to be a rebuilding year for ASU...
Not saying they can't be #2, but from what I heard I figured they'd struggle a little more than the usual ASU does.

We'll still be good, but I'd look for GSU or WoCo to move up quickly in the conference. Chatty looked good until the news broke last week about Huesmann kicking a few guys off the team.

While there are certainly some big shoes to fill, the cupboard ain't too bare. App's been stock-piling 'speed' and 'meat' since 2007, and barring too many injuries, should have a nice mix of youth and experience this year.
So ... yah might take some of that mountain poor-mouthin' with a slight grain of salt
And they finish at home, with Wofford, Appalachian and Elon (a trip to UTC is mixed in there on the 29th). So ...

So ... yah might take some of that mountain poor-mouthin' with a slight grain of saltand yah might keep an eye out for The Vermin of Furman. They've got some young talent, and if Fowler lights a fire under it, they could be rollin' into The Stink on Oct 15th at 5-0, with a really bad attitude, after giving one away to The Convicts last year.

If things go well for us, maybe we can notch a 'W' against either Western or The Citadel.

Thank God we're not playing Tusculum, I hear they can be really tough to beat, especially when they play on the road.Aho Old Guy wrote:Things do look rather bleak for AppalachianASUG8 wrote:

Re: CS FCS Top 25 Pre-Season Football Poll
I'm really surprised ASU is #2. I know preseason polls are pretty much useless, but I have us #6. I'd love to hit the playoffs as a top 2 seed though. We've lost a lot, but hopefully our recruits and our new D-scheme can produce some shocking results.

Ridiculous that Appy is so high. They are one team that will fall off this year. Even more than they did last year.

We also return the whole o-line that paved the way for one of those players skippy, as well as having some great depth at lb and d-line, but don't worry, we will suck, I am surelakesbison wrote:serious question.

Dude, eagleskins is right. We did have a massive falloff, and it's going to continue...we're going to be battling it out with West Carolina and Citadel to avoid being the SoCon bottom-feeder.Mvemjsunpx wrote:Um, they got to the quarterfinals… Just one round short of the previous year.eagleskins wrote:

If...somehow...miracuously ASU wins the SoCon for a record 7th consecutive year, I wonder if eagleskins will be back to eat crow? Predictions in June are always tricky...

Montana State at #3? Has that ever happened in as CS (or any other) poll before?
