Obama Still A Runaway Victor in 2012

No serious challengers. Smart, can dance circles around Conklodyte pretenders. Hoping Bachmann wins the Conk nomination.

If the economy is no better this time next year, he'll be in for a serious fight, almost regardless of who the GOP comes up with. If he can nudge the economy enough, then he'll win (although no one wins in landslides anymore - he'll still lose 48% of the vote). It's all about the economy, stupid.

If the economy is no better, he loses. 9+% unemployment he loses. 8+% he probably loses. 7+% he's in a fight. The last president re-elected with unemployment over 7.2% was FDR in 1936.

He's in for a fight anyway, unless the economy begins to improve significantly. Too many entrenched partisans on both sides for it not to be close. As always, it's going to depend on the centrists as to which way this goes.

The GOP still needs to find someone people could vote for. Otherwise it will be '04 all over again - Bush largely unpopular, but throw out a dreadful candidate like Kerry and Bush won by default.

Bachmann has as much chance of getting the nod as you do. And she's hotter.
