Probably so, you guys have only lost about 7 out of 10 games against us throughout history. Keep up the good work guys. :D

Montana's overall record against current BSC opponents

Sac St. 14-0 -- 1.000 winning percentage
UNC 8-1 -- .889 winning percentage
WSU 36-11 -- .750 winning percentage
ISU 38-13 -- .745 winning percentage
NAU 31-11 -- .738 winning percentage
EWU 24-10-1 -- .700 winning percentage
PSU 25-11 -- .694 winning percentage
MSU 68-35-5 -- .652 winning percentage

So, there are two BSC teams with better winning percentages against Montana than EWU. At least historically. MSU has three wins this decade. EWU has two. ISU, WSU, PSU each have one. UNC, NAU, Sac State have none.

In case you're counting, that's a total of EIGHT conference losses this DECADE. :D :D :D

But 1-3 in that time frame in NC appearances, winning in 2001 and losing in 2000, 2004, 2008. BH needs to get over the hump to be mentioned in the same breath as Don Read.

At least your getting to NC, which is more than any of the other BSC schools can say, sadly.

The talk in Sac is that it's NAU, theyre are going to be sufferring from some pretty bad budget cuts, like SuperHornet said, 1-8 million.

No way it's Sac State for a few reasons:

1. Students voted to tax themselves to help support football in '05, students overwhelmingly voted for the fee's.

2. The NEW Broad Athletic Facility for FOOTBALL!

3. The NEW recreation and wellness center thats at the end zone.

4. President Gonzalez is a vehement supporter of football at the university, he believes that athletics, especially football, helps make a university, a university.

5. Plans are still on track to make the "erector set" stadium more permanent.

6. The alumni would not allow talk of the university dropping football without extensive media coverage.

Sacramento State, now more than ever, is supporting athletics and has many upgrades and new facilities planned or being talked about. The previous president of the university, Donald Gerth, was anti athletics and campus growth. He envisioned a commuter campus that was in some city, this has changed drammatically over the past 4 years or so. The city and the university just entered into a memorandum of understanding finally acknowledging that Sac State was and is Sacramento's university and that the Hornets are Sacraento's team regardless of the sport.

I dont know how credible the source is that is reporting that NAU will be dropping football, I just know that it's an Idaho paper. A link to the article can be found at Sac State's fan forum, Sacbuzz.com.

Im thinking that its going to be NAU. The State of Arizona is making the universities have all sorts of budget cuts and cutting programs and the like to save money. Hopefully this will open the door for SUU to get into the Big Sky since thankfully utahs economy is on steady ground.

A year ago Iona said it wasnt dropping football either, they typically make the announcement mid season or toward the end of the season. I'm in no way advocating for anyone to drop football, I hate it when any institution drops any athletic program.

I hate it even worse when a school holds on in a half-hearted attempt to field a team no one supports, or respects, including the students.......like Western...

Big difference between a private, non-schollie program and NAU.

I have been in contact with the AD's office...

Um well you cant really laugh at Northern Colorado, they barely just joined the Big Sky 2 years ago and barely joined Div. 1 6 years ago, give them time they are coming around. Portland State and Sac State however, no real excuse, seriously put SUU in there im pretty sure they can compete with NAU, MSU, WSU, EWU, Montana (referring to 07 not this year) and beat Sac State, Portland State and Northern Colorado.
