You know, I do hope that VCU acquires the stadium, if VCU got into CAA football (and I know it's been stated before) then ODU would have it's biggest rival in football too, and that'd be too much fun.
And I got some friends that'll be going to VCU next year and I think it'd be great in the future to be able to rub our football wins against them in their faces ;D
Yeah, way too much fun here. hate would take on a new meaning lol. An on campus stadium would have to be built for it to work though. S(hitty) Stadium isn't the answer.
Sirloinburger wrote:I did. Found only 2 under "MAJOR". I think you need to try harder for laughs.
They are hidden in other categories. Every other sports site has the players concentration under "Major" .
What the f(uck) is up with Majoring in kinesiology lol.
OK I admit I found a few which makes me laugh. Economics and Kinesiology I think these are phantom majors. What's hiding behind is the true major. Hotel Management.
Not trying for laughs, just pointing out your ignorance. If you had checked the bios the way I told you, you would have found many more including majors in finance, sociology, music, history, etc., but they are at the bottom, not at the top due to a change in format sometime back.
By the way one of the kinesology majors was part of a double major, so much for the skills you learned @ ODU. I can't wait until Sept. 24 when your football schooling begins.
andy7171 wrote:the ******* of ODU fans on this board.
yeah, well Towson fans aren't that much better.
Also let me go on record saying that a majority of ODU fans know we'll probably get our a$$es handed to us once or twice this season...its inevitable. To think we'll go to Newark and beat Delaware? Well one can dream, right?
Lastly, arguing about what majors students are taking? really?
I'm just glad to have football and I know the storm is slowly approaching, lol. I do think however that the attention we're getting from fans of other schools is a telling sign of a fear that ODU will soon dominate the league. A 3 year program at that, lol.
But I was thinking, How about a scenario with ODU, Charlotte and Georgia State in the SoCon as football only schools. We would belong to a true southern conference, not some "northeast, midatlantic, southern" hybrid that's about to fall apart. I kinda like the idea though it never will happen or could it. What if the CAA does come apart?.
I really can't see VCU starting football any time soon. THeir basketball success, and retainin Shaka Smart, has already required them to increase student fees. VCU, as previously mentioned, has also been reprimanded for their steep tuition increases. I don't think the fan support is there, either. Also, football in Virginia is running the risk of being overwhelming. I think in 5 years the state will have five FBS teams (UVA, VaTech, ODU, JMU, Liberty) ... That is certainly more than enough schools for one state (and I do think Va can support more than the 2 it currently has) ... but if VCU or Mason were to add football now, they would be eyeing a move-up with CAA brethren JMU and ODU ... and I simply do not think the state can support 6/7 FBS schools. I have to think VCU and Mason are considering that ... in addition to the extraordinary costs of starting a team, adding female sports schollys to comply with Title 9 and build / renovate the right facilities. Just don't see it.

good point, have 6-7 teams would easily be enough to start a new conference if you also include UNC-Charlotte, possibly even Delaware but UDel fans say the support isn't there now.

Sorry, but that is about as far from the truth as possible. Don't mistake fear for annoyance.
Usually, when someone is annoying, they are put on "ignore" or they are simply ignored. You can't ignore us. The constant attempt to put ODU in their predetermined seat is laughable. We sellout or games, we care about our football. We're big. If only our stadium had more seats. True, the CAA has some of the best teams in the country. But if you can't sellout your stadium year in year out, that means your fans don't give a s(hit). Why should we care what you say when your fans don't care about you. W&M didn't sellout for the year, Delaware did not, JMU did not, Villanova did not. Towson is a joke. We did and we will continue to, win or lose. The Flagship National Championship Program.

I was wrong superburger should stick around more often.
"Elaine, you're from Baltimore, right?"
"Yes, well, Towson actually."

This. Thanks for proving my point. Until you actually do something ON THE FIELD against a quality team, no one fears you. It is that simple. It's real easy to put people in your seats as you beat up on DII teams...
And why would I care about Towson College? I didn't go there.

Wait, so UD continues to set an FCS record for consecutive years with regular season attendance averaging over 20k fans (something like every year since 1998 or so and still counting) and somehow our fans don't give a sh*t? Man, who knew?

Don't you know? I-AA/FCS football didn't exist prior to 2008!

Well, our 2nd year team did have a lead on the CAA Champions for 55 minutes.

Any other examples of games you lost against a quality opponent?
The emoticons are a telling tale. They hide the anxiety of true fear. ODU plans are big. You can have the leading attendance records in the past, but if you cannot sellout your stadium someone in Delaware doesn't give a shit. Now Towson is well known as a school that doesn't give a shit about it's programs. Living in the cellar is OK with them I geuss.

I thought we averaged more fans that UD last season.
