They're both GSU. Multiple schools can have the same initials; this isn't a big deal.

The only example I can think of off hand of I-A teams with three same initials is USC : South Carolina and Southern Cal. But at least they are on opposite coasts. GSU and GST are the same state. I thought this had already been covered on here- its gonna cause confusion on here if people all of a sudden start referring to Ga State as GA Southern. Using GST and GSU keeps everyone straight.

Have you heard anything more about the defensive players who were arrested (the frat incident). I saw someone wrote that only one guy was a starter. I guess the other guys could have started this season. Either way, JMU has a very good D.

The "Frat incident" has actually stalled, for all I have heard. Both sides are "guilty" and the frat guys won't talk, so there really is nothing for police to go on. That said, those players were all true freshmen ... so yes, it will hurt the program if they're kicked off the team at some point, but none of them were starters ...

As for the incident I think you were referencing, in which Jon, Peter and Anthony Rose were involved with Jonathan Williams back in the fall ... Jonathan Williams was the only starter, but he was graduating anyways. The Rose brothers are very highly touted recruits (all, I believe, were 3 stars, with Peter being a VaTech transfer) ... but from what I've heard, they were also provoked, to an extent, and were just coming to the youngest brother (Anthony's) defense. That story also seems to have gone away, though I know chargers are at least going on against Jon Williams, but he wouldn't be on the team anyway. Regarding the Rose brothers, I'm pretty sure they're still on the team and they aren't being charged with anything serious enough to get kicked off the team. Peter and Jon got the most playing time (the two older brothers) and got decent time, but neither are starters, though they are certainly contributors to the 2-deep

It all hinges on QB play for each team. Both are defensively solid. Running game should be equal or better for UNI, equal for NDSU. Both have a need for an answer at PK. Honestly, I think UNI has more upside potential that the Hairy Cows, but it really all depends on Rennie becoming a legitimate passing threat.

Jonathon Williams wasn't graduating. He would have been the starting WS as a rSr. He later pick up a public intox charge and Mickey kicked him off the team.

3 Rose brothers. One, Jon Rose, a rising rSr, was the backup at SS last season. Another, Peter Rose, was Williams backup at WS plus the backup at FS (JMU has 3 starting safeties). The 3rd Rose brother Anthony was a Fr WR who took a redshirt last season.

Trial date is set for Sept 13, so I will assume even the most likely scenario of a plea deal that that will face at least multiple game suspensions and missed at least half the season, leaving JMU thin at safety, with having to replace 1 starter and 2 backups. The good news for JMU is are stacked at corner, with all 5 with playing experience back from last yr + 2 rFr pushing for pt, so 1-2 of them may be moved over to safety. There is also a very promising rFr safety who took a redshirt last season since last season JMU had good depth at safety and was one of the few positions didn't suffer injuries at.

Can't the same be said for about 115 of the 120+ teams in FCS? I mean, if the Griz get solid QB play, they'll go 10-1 and deep into the playoffs. If they don't the'll go 7-4 or 6-5 and be home again for the second year in a row.
