Congress considering eliminating ethanol subsidy

Tim Pawlenty gave his official "I'm running for Prez" speech in Des Moines yesterday. In the speech he said that ethanol subsidies need to be eliminated. He managed to get out of Des Moines alive!

I may have to pay more attention to him after having the balls to do that.

I saw that. Now that Daniels has bowed out, I have to find some other candidate, and it might as well be Tim!

Tax breaks = Letting someone or something keep money it has earned

The only caveat is that sometimes a "tax credit" results in the government actually giving money to someone who doesn't pay taxes or giving more money to someone than that person paid in taxes. The Earned Income Tax credit is an example. In such a case, a tax credit can indeed be a "subsidy."

But I doubt if that's the case here. I'd be surprised if the ethanol credit results in a true subsidy to anybody.

Yeah, all those govt off shore exploratory & drilling platforms & ships, onshore oil rigs, pipelines and refineries that the govt built.
