What do expect? Wasn't that long ago he was telling us that picking Palin for VP was a political masterstroke. :silly:

(They only elected W once. The first time he was appointed by the SCOTUS) :ugeek:
Oh BS, Bush won every single recount conducted in FL, including several by independent news organizations, yet you have idiots on the left who continue to insist he was "appointed". :dunce:

The decision is sure to disappoint the governor's many supporters, among them several prominent Republican governors who thought Mr. Daniels's deep résumé and record as cost-cutter in Indiana would add ballast to the 2012 GOP field.

In the end, he said, the decision came down to family. "I was able to resolve every competing consideration but one, but that, the interests and wishes of my family, is the most important consideration of all," he said in an e-mail sent after midnight.

What a pussy. HW was sitting at 90% popularity after Gulf War and less than a year before the election of '92, and Bill Clinton kicked a mud hole in his ass and stomped it dry. Honks need to find a candidate with some balls. Pitiful. :ohno:
Gulf War I ended in early 01'- try over yr and a half before the election of 92' when HW hit 90%, not less than a yr as you claim.

Yeah, and Clinton really stomped a mud hole in his ass with 43% of the vote to 38% for HW. If it wasn't for Perot taking 19% mostly from R's then Clinton wouldn't have gotten elected.

I'll make the bet Obama gets reelected with any of these people as opponents...
Pawlenty
Romney
Santorum
Gingrich
Bachmann
Palin

We've got 60+ yards for a touchdown and time enough for just a few more plays. Might as well throw a hail mary (i.e. nominate Paul or Cain) instead of a 12 yard pass underneath the coverage. Both of those guys are true rogue candidates and could make Mr. Hope-and-change look like a garden-variety establishment doofus.

Cain is a corporatist and would just end up being Obama-dark. Although, if nominated and he were to chose Palin, conks could simply cross out the Mc on their bumper stickers.

How about Jeb Bush? He'd take Florida and be positioned to pick off another couple of swing states.

You aren't serious, are you?

The guy is named Bush - short of nominating Bachmann - there is little the GOP could do to ensure the election would go WORSE for them...

And the GOP hasn't been alerted to the fact that the "Tea Party Bubble" is bursting all around them.

Have you seen the EPIC collapse in support for both Tea Party Governors and the GOP in the generic Congressional ballot?

Florida, Wisconsin, Ohio, Maine... all of them have Tea Party Govs... they all have disapproval ratings in the mid-to-upper 50's and support in the upper 30's...

The fact that the GOP is scrambling, and may well lose the incredibly safe NY-26 seat Tuesday night... not a good sign for them either.

The backlash against the tea party and their sponsors over at the GOP is already well under way...

But the damage will linger for years. Not sure if they were smart enough to realize they had a limited window to push through their radical agenda, knowing that they would lose the next election, but not by enough to undo all of their legislation, or dumb enough to think that they had a mandate for a total revolution.

For a so-called "operative", you're not too smart. :dunce:

These governors haven't even served 1/8th of their term and now you're trying to claim there's an "epic collapse" and the walls have started to crumble around them? While on the other hand with less than 1.5 years to the presidential election Obama is unbeatable when he is AT BEST 50/50 approval/disapproval with a failing economy?

It's nothing more than wishful thinking on your part.

As far as the NY-26 is concerned. The only reason it's close is because of a lifelong Donk registering as an independent and claiming to be a tea partier, otherwise it would be another Republican landslide.

Huntsman might give Obama a run....if he wasn't Mormon, I'd really like his chances...he's got the ear of corporate America, isn't just an anti-Obama candidate and seems to be a reasonable person...also has global respect as former ambassador to China...

There is a HUGE collapse going on for the GOP right now... they overplayed 2010's results... and it's starting to show.

I'm not suggesting one way or another on their new Gov's re-election prospects - I'm pointing out their polling collapses reflect a broader collapse for the GOP over the last five months that bodes ill for them in the next election.

My belief Obama will be re-elected is rooted in the fact that the GOP hasn't got a viable candidate people can vote "for" rather - they have candidates who are there to collect votes "against" Obama... such a thing didn't work for Kerry, Dole, Mondale, etc...

I agree as well. I mentioned Huntsman before as someone who could beat Obama as I think he would have broad appeal in a general election. But that's the problem. Huntsman, like Daniels, isn't "anti-Obama" enough for the blood-sucking wing of the GOP that decides the primaries. Hence, the quandary of today's GOP...for them to field a viable candidate in the general, they would need to kidnap and remove the idiots from the primary voting polls....
