The primary? Seriously SH? Wow. Just... wow. The most recent "challenge" to an incumbent POTUS would be Buchanan, 20 years ago to HW Bush... and even that wasn't too serious. Not happening.
Also - Huckster was not a serious candidate. A serious candidate is someone with the resume and credentials to present a serious or even potentially serious challenge to the incumbent. That means they need either a political base, a huge financial base, or a huge platform from which to launch themselves. Huck had exactly NONE of those things.
Serious contenders:
Daniels
Pawlenty
Romney
Palin
Fringe Contenders:
Huckabee (not anymore)
Huntsman
Bachmann
Santorum
Paul
Everyone else is a complete pretender.
(note, I may have forgotten one or two)

Re: Huckabee sitting out 2012
I was expecting him to say he wouldn't run. I was NOT expecting him to do "Cat Scratch Fever" with Ted Nugent and let Nugent sing nasty lyrics. In addition to the original song lyrics including "I make the pussy purr with the stroke of my hand " he ad libbed in a "I like the scratch that beaver."
Since it was taped Huckabee had every opportunity to get rid of it. And, heck, he knew about the double entendre in the song's lyrics going in.
Some preacher HE is.
But it was a pretty good rendition of the song.

Re: Huckabee sitting out 2012
I think Obama is very beatable theoretically. The problem is that the Republicans haven't had a really good Presidential candidate in terms of the ability to put on the show and present the image it takes since Ronald Reagan and there's no indication of anybody like that out there now either. They just don't have the showmen (or showwomen) for the task. This is my point. Serious candidates aren't signing up for 2012 because they know how difficult it will be.
Jeb Bush might have potential in a vacuum. But it's not a vacuum and he'd have to overcome the venom against his brother.
But I think the fact that it looks like Obama is unbeatable is more a statement about how short the Republican party is of national candidate types for the electronic media age than it is a statement about Obama being "all that."

Just a thought...
Why not Paul Ryan?
Why not Paul Ryan?
