I'm REALLY disappointed...
...that nobody's picked up Montana RB Chase Reynolds. I saw one draft site that cited a 4.52 40. That's freaking awesome for a RB; one generally only sees faster on offense with WRs. He was a beast vs. Sac and many other good programs. And I've never heard anything negative about the kid. No fumblitis, no off-the-field crap. Who would NOT want a RB like this?!?

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Re: I'm REALLY disappointed...
Not really surprised Chase didn't get drafted, but I am curious to see if he gets picked up as an undrafted free agent. The shitty thing (well, ONE of the shitty things) about this lockout is all the undrafted players are just left to sit and wait when many of them would've been signed by now.

Re: I'm REALLY disappointed...
Normally he'd probably have signed by now, but like SDG mentioned, players can't sign and talk to teams during a lockout

Re: I'm REALLY disappointed...
He wasn't good enough to warrant a draft pick, but a quick PFA for sure.
However, the lock out is going to hurt MANY FCS players this year.

Although it was implied, thank you for not using his name in your thought.clenz wrote:He wasn't good enough to warrant a draft pick, but a quick PFA for sure.
Not sure I could handle seeing "Chase Reynolds", and "not good enough" in the same sentence...no matter the context.

He is a hell of a player, no doubt about that.Grizo406 wrote:Although it was implied, thank you for not using his name in your thought.clenz wrote:He wasn't good enough to warrant a draft pick, but a quick PFA for sure.

I'm not sure he was worth a pick though.

Re: I'm REALLY disappointed...
The Chargers drafted Jordon Todman from UConn in the 6th round and he rushed for 1690 yards this last year was an all conference back in the Big East so there were a lot backs out there and it is very tough to even get a look. Chase deserves a shot as a free agent and try to earn a spot as special teamer.

Maybe the NFL didn't like that BS excessive celebration he did last year. F'ing showboat.

I expected more of a reaction from the griz nation.

Okay, here's your reaction:andy7171 wrote:I expected more of a reaction from the griz nation.
If you think Chase Reynolds is an "F'ing showboat", you obviously:
A. Haven't seen him play much; and/or
B. Don't understand the circumstances of his excessive celebration penalty.
As to A., I watched Chase score 59 touchdowns for the Griz (the all-time Griz record - more on that later), and he had exactly one excessive celebration penalty. Other than this one incident, he always handed the ball back to the ref after scoring, with no theatrics whatsoever.
As to B., the touchdown that preceded this celebration was the one that broke the Grizzlies' all-time rushing TDs record (previously held by Lex Hilliard, now a Miami Dolphin). Chase was asked prior to the game by his linemen if he'd do it for them, so they could celebrate the achievement with him. He didn't want to do it, but he did it out of loyalty to the hogs who paved the way for so many of his TDs. (This version of events was confirmed by the linemen after the game, and is corroborated by the fact that the linemen were in on the celebration, falling down when Chase threw the "grenade".)
Don't know if you were just being facetious about Chase's character with your statement, just wanted a reaction, or truly believed what you said. Whatever. Nice try.

Yeah, like I didn't see that possibility: "Don't know if you were just being facetious about Chase's character with your statement, just wanted a reaction, or truly believed what you said."bandl wrote:Well done Andy.![]()
Didn't exactly see any wink emoticons in his post. I guess I should have known from the identity of the author that it would have zero factual value and was just a worthless troll, though.
I guess I'll have to defer to Grizalltheway's reaction: Sod off, both of you.

I didn't even read a single sentence of your first post, but I knew it had to be a pissy Montana fan taking Andy's facetious post personally and seriously, so I just threw out the hook for him just for the hell of it. And now that I've actually read your first post...turns out I was 100% correct!
Re: I'm REALLY disappointed...
The "grenade"??? Is that like the bowling celebration, with the linemen as pins? Or the gangsta Tommy gun celebration?CrunchGriz wrote:As to B., the touchdown that preceded this celebration was the one that broke the Grizzlies' all-time rushing TDs record (previously held by Lex Hilliard, now a Miami Dolphin). This year I want to see the "Bin Laden", where the lineman grabs a cheerleader and tries to hide behind her, only to fake having his brains blown out by the TD scorer...
