After thinking about it, in my initial knee jerk reaction I was wrong. Obama does deserve a bump in the polls and some credit for the killing. All hail the annoited one. There. You donks happy?
The intelligence community and the SEALs who actually carried this out deserve 99.99% of the recognition.

And countless American lives. As I stayed up way too late watching this last night, I didn't feel happiness or vindication. I felt indifferent, mostly and then sad. I'm sad that it all had to come to this. I'm sad that anyone's life has to come to an end, regardless of how deserving of death. I completely believe OBL deserved what he got, and a lot earlier than he got it. However, I find it hard to celebrate and praise death. More than anything, my heart goes out to all of the families or our men and women that died in the efforts to capture/ kill this one man. I hope that the families of our fallen troops and the victims' familes of the 9/11 (and other OBL) attacks find some sort of closure through OBL's death.

One, they don't have jobs. Two, the US has been after OBL for most of their lives. Three, they're too young to realize this was only a moral victory.

Oh, and I guess since non of us...ok well most of us....weren't born during WW2 we shouldn't celebrate that either. We shouldn't celebrate the 4th of July, freeing of the slaves, or really anything that we weren't at least 20 at the time it happens.

Burial at sea? I dunno, so many fun places to bury him - like maybe France, or Tel Aviv, or Ciudad Juarez, or Minneapolis...

23 year old seniors need to learn how to finish in four years ;-)

my point being - you didn't see anyone with a living memory of life before 9-11 (more or less) dancing in the streets... while the late hour might account for some of it... i think it also speaks to how most people over the age of 25 reacted to it... a certain amount of happiness, perhaps a smile, a hug between loved ones... and a knowledge, gained in the last 10 years by many that we're fighting a Hydra, and in cutting off the head, while viscerally satisfying, will result in three more growing...

And you call me a troll for offering a more mature perspective. :ohno:

I was embarrassed to see all the drunk christian fucks in the streets celebrating a bloody murder on TV for all the world to see.

Looked exactly like the same aljazeera shit the muslims do whenever one of our planes malfunctions and crashes into a falafel stand in Iran.

Osama Bin Laden continues to win. He turned us into them.

You fucking idiots just don't get it. :ohno:

If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

You've been out of school way to long. There is a growing number of majors that it is nearly impossible to finish in 4 years unless one is taking 18 credits per semester along with a couple summer classes. Education majors, at a lot of schools, went from something like 140 or 150 credits needed to graduate up to about 160-170. That is an extra semester added on. Most education majors are also now required to do three placements in schools compared to the one or two that were required just a couple years ago.
