Oh, Justice will be served
And the battle will rage
This big dog will fight
When you rattle his cage
And you'll be sorry that you messed with
The U.S. of A.
'Cause we'll put a boot in your ass
It's the American way

I don't usually curse but you are ******* crazy if you think bin Laden got the better of us. He may have landed a few punched here and there but last I checked, we are the ones still standing

Cool to see the stadium excitement build as the news is passed person to person.

Seriously, is this a sad day for you? :ohno: What are your thoughts about him being killed? Do you think this is a bad thing?
It's sad because his death is meaningless and nothing is goin to change. Everything he set out to do was accomplished years ago.

Regardless of his crimes, I find it morally disgusting to revel in the murder of another human being. I also fear Obama using his death for political gain. This is also an endorsement of our military and that is always utterly dangerous.

Look at all the bloodthirsty Christians on tv.

If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

Fucking right it is a great day.

Of course, we could have done nothing at all, and let assholes like OBL take over the world.
I get where D1B is coming from. All of us here believe in an "eye for an eye," and D1B is the type that believes an "eye for an eye turns the whole world blind." Personally, I suggest he stop all this trolling bullshit even if he actually does think it's murder, and take heed from a great quote by Mark Twain: "I've never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure." :thumb:

Of course he does. Why else would he be defending Osama? No one likes him. I hope Chris bans his ass.

If anything, it shows that large occupational forces are piss in the wind for getting a high value target. It shows that utilizing intel, cutting edge surveillance, and a small tactical team to bag the target are the future.

I think this only accelerates getting us the hell out, finally.

Honestly, what would you have suggested that we, as a country should have done?

After 9/11, were we supposed to say "ah fuck it, we can't do anything now. Might as well just let this one go."

If not hunt down the leader of the terrorist organization that attacked our country, what were we supposed to do?

After seeing the controversies at Gitmo and the trial venue dustup for KSM, don'tcha think there may have been an order to put one between the eyes? I know if I was writing the order, it would have included it. I believe the law allowed for assassination.

I just walked out my room to take a piss and here's the exchange with my roommates:

Them: "You heard?"
Me: "About Bin Laden? Yeah."
Them: "Sorry."
Me: "Why?"
Them: "What, no respect for family?"
Me:

We needed to get him. I just don't think we deserve to celebrate it like we won a war. We handled ourselves about as poorly as a nation could since 9/11. I'm wary of any excuse to celebrate the bad side of America.

Next to positive it was Delta. As soon as they confirmed i was a boots on the ground op I figured that's who it was.

Except they've confirmed it was Navy SEALs. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) Sucks for the Army....

I'm glad a bomb wasn't used. The ground operation took about 40 minutes, so OBL had quite a bit of time to contemplate his impending demise.

According to CNN, apparently the body won't be brought to the US and will be buried in the area, even though details of who will take control and bury him are still unknown. I guess there really isn't a need for the body, but it could've been cool to plasticize it and place it the the Smithsonian or something.
