How did JMU @ UNC not make the list?
*The initial good list, not the really bad ones.

JMU could/should really make this a game. UNC loses a ton of talent from this years team plus has to replace a multi-year starter at QB. JMU's defense is good enough to keep them in the game, just like at VaTech last year and the heels have been known to "spit the bit" historically. There could be wine and cheese spewed all over Kenan Stadium.DirtyDukes wrote:How did JMU @ UNC not make the list?

Based on what we saw last year, I have to agree with Speedking. JMU has the defense to give them a good shot at winning this one if the ball bounces the right way.SpeedkingATL wrote:JMU could/should really make this a game. W&M was beating UNC in the 4th quarter last year. JMU beat VT last year. Not a guarantee, but UNC is probably not as good this season and JMU is probably better. UNC 24 JMU 17

Don't be surprised to see NoCo beat Colorado State in Fort Collins this September. The two teams haven't played each other since '86. The schools are separated by about 30 miles. CSU has struggled with Weber State and Sac State in the past. Should be a good game.

CSU is bad, but I would be really surprised if UNC beat them. Hell, I'm surprised when you guys beat a Big Sky team not named ISU.BigSkyBears wrote:Don't be surprised to see NoCo beat Colorado State in Fort Collins this September. And last yr ASU got thumped badly by a 7-5 Florida team which las a lot more bearing than their win over Michigan 4 years ago- almost all those players are gone.SuperHornet wrote:VA Tech isn't Michigan, which Appy has already beaten.EWURanger wrote:
Neither is EWU @ UW. Possible - sure. Probable - **** no.
UW is worse than VA Tech, and EWU won the REAL National Championship.
The only "probable" I-AA over I-A is when you have a bad non BCS vs a top I-AA. I-A wins over 90% of these games, and will be favored in 90+% of them.

Re: Per Rivals: Worst FCS vs. FBS games
I hear what you'all are saying. Should have put JMU @ UNC on their, but JMU's chances won't be nearly as good as vs VT last yr, even though JMU should be better and UNC might not be as good or any better than VT was. Will be completely different circumstances. JMU isn't going to catch the Tarholes coming off of a devastating loss on 5 days rest, and UNC will hear plenty about what JMU di to VT last yr.LeadBolt wrote:Based on what we saw last year, I have to agree with Speedking. I have to look more into what UNC has coming back after having all those guys drafted (3 of whom didn't get to play at all last season). Yes, JMU's defense will be loaded- 9 starters coming back from #2 defense in CAA (would have been 10 if not for losing one due to ahem, off the field issues) plus a starting DT who went down for season vs VT & 2 yr starting LB who missed last season.
I'll be going to the game. I'm thinking UNC likely wins by around 10-14 points. I will be surprised- but not shocked, if JMU could pull the upset.

UNI @ Iowa State on Sept 3 should be a good game. Not a probable win but very much so possible
