Actually, Stalin grew up in Georgia (the country), but there's no need to be exact I guess. You haven't been.

All attempts at deflection aside, it still don't take away from the fact that Stalin was an atheist and has the blood of hundreds of thousands of people on his hands he slaughtered only because they followed a religion. If atheism is a religion, it isn't for me to decide. However, according to Mrs. Webster, and I'll paraphrase, a religion is a set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or groups of persons. Generally speaking, atheists aren't organized and while many religions are, there are some who aren't. If you really think about it, much like religions, atheists have a set of convictions and practices they hold to be true. I'm sure to some Atheism could technically be considered a religion, or better maybe even a cult.

Atheists and humanists were the cause of perhaps 100,000,000 deaths in the past century. Do I fear them? Yes, any thinking person would.

There is a great debate which occurred in the 19th century between Nietzsche and Dostoevsky. Although they were ideological opponents, they had great respect for each other. Dostoevsky criticized Nietzsche's atheism, saying that if you were remove God from human understanding, the source of human morality would fail, because it was founded on objective truth. Nietzsche conceded this to be true, but thought that a system of human ethics would replace the concept of objective truth. Dostoevsky responded to this in his work The Possessed (or The Demons or The Devils) in which his protagonist speculated that such systems of non-objective morality would, in the coming century, result in perhaps 100,000,000 deaths. He was prophetic. Remarkably, his predicted number of deaths may be right on the money.

So when D1B cannot understand why anyone would equate atheism and humanism (for lacking respect for objective truth as the source of morality), he gives himself away as a rube.
