Don't mistake the shitty play of the football team(and basketball and lacrosse) for the lack of scenery and entertainment around town.93henfan wrote:Nothing says "party" like Towson (Johnny U) Stadium.
Is the ex-O-lineman going to get a small block of tix or is it tailgate and then every man (or bandl) for himself?
I can prolly get a block of tickets fairly cheap if enough people are going to come.

Potential pitfall, though there are other parking lots, is that the parking lot I normally park in is going to be completely closed due to the construction of the new arena.93henfan wrote:I'm there man. We're 5 miles from the stadium and I have a friend who does civil unions for Jon and Alex. We'll tailgate like Romans and hit the wineries after the game. Why should the settle for a civil union ceremony in some cow pasture in freaking Carbondale when they can have an official, recognized, marriage in the state of Iowa.

I live in the most liberal state and we can't even get the homo-gays married WTF? Jon needs to get the hell out of that anti gay-mexican territory called Arizona, oh and they don't like blacks there either. No MLK day until they took away the super bowl. then poof MLK day. I don't get how the US allows a state to do that. Hell they don't believe in daylight saving there either. Bunch of haters!clenz wrote:Why should the settle for a civil union ceremony in some cow pasture in freaking Carbondale when they can have an official, recognized, marriage in the state of Iowa.
PS ESPN just said Fiesta Bowl might lose BCS bid status because they were giving kickbacks to politicians and skimming off the top. Where is the Fiesta Bowl. AZ territory

Because they would have to be in Iowa and die of boredom in the cold. And SIU whupping UNI at home, yet again, would put a damper on the festivities. We need a game that will be interesting.clenz wrote:Why should the settle for a civil union ceremony in some cow pasture in freaking Carbondale when they can have an official, recognized, marriage in the state of Iowa.

And SIU has won 1 game at UNI in the last 20 years.
Fourteen starters back, seven from the MVCs best total defense.

There are many great place to hold this, but IMO, the National Conference should be held in Missoula!

I'm thinking we're gonna do something for the EWU game on Sept. 17th. There may be a few surprise guests coming in for that game so when I get more information we'll get the ball rolling on this one.Grizo406 wrote:There are many great place to hold this, but IMO, the National Conference should be held in Missoula!

I'd agree if UM were more centrally located. I think the Mississippi River is a good middle ground, so that means SIU or UNI, which really isn't much choice.Grizo406 wrote:There are many great place to hold this, but IMO, the National Conference should be held in Missoula!

UNI - Cold, dark, remote; fat chicks, indoor field.
SIU - Great weather, new stadium, poontang galore, wineries everywhere.

What is the closest airport to SIU?
From Towson you've got BWI a stone's throw away, National less than an hour south, Dulles about an hour+ south, Philly about an hour north...
