Yep. If memory serves the Southern Poverty Law Center won a lawsuit against them and they had to forfeit their compound as part of the settlement. That being said I have a relative in local law enforcement who was investigating a guy just a few years back that was suspected in the murder of a hispanic. The victims ear was cut off which was evidently an initiation trophy for joining the club. So I'm guessing their still around these parts, but of course there's ******* in every part of the country.

If you were truly factmongering you would be referring to the KKK still operating in the Midwest. The Klan is all but decimated in the south.

I think Indiana might have the largest Klan membership. SPLC's website might have something on it, but then in law enforcement intelligence we never relied on their website because it tended to inflate numbers. They might be accurate on relative numbers, though.

Not sure how accurate this is, not being in law enforcement after all. But it indicates that the KKK is still active in the south and elsewhere.

The Klan is still around, I wasn't trying to say they are completely washed up down south, but as a large organized group they are nowhere nearly as prolific as they are in the midwest, where they found new life by combining with the skinheads.

We used to deal with them from time to time in Charleston. I think the last time they marched in Charleston was in the early 90s. At that time, it was basically their grand dragon from up around Greenville and about 20 toothless followers.
