Post by BlackFalkin »

OBVIOUSLY the championship game against ud got EWU the championship. But according to YOU, what was the BIGGEST win for ewu in 2010.

Said it in the other thread; the one where you rushed the field twice :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

(really it was Villanova though, I didn't think anyone was beating them after the App game, much less without arguably the best player in FCS)

To me, this is really a toss-up. The obvious answer is the NC game - but other than that, it has to be either the UM win, or Nova.

UM game:
-First win in Cheney since 1992 (although we have won at Joe Albi in Spokane since then)
-First game on the Inferno at the newly re-dedicated Roos Field
-Single game attendance record in Cheney

Nova game:
-First semi-final appearance since '97
-Beat the defending national champions
-First win over CAA team (Might have been the first time we've ever played a CAA team, not sure)

As much as I want to say the Montana game was the biggest win, I'm going to have to go with the semi-final game against Nova. First semi-final win in program history against the defending National Champs in a game which virtually NO ONE on this board gave us a chance to win. That includes the majority of the Big Sky posters. So yeah, definitely the Nova game.

It was. We're 2-0 all time vs. the CAA. 8-)

i gotta say the NDSU game. that was a hot team EWU beat and the last TD drive was pretty epic.

Nova was hotter.

Wins over Delaware, SFA (Payton winner Moses), and App State, all on the road. And we did it without TJ.

That 90 yard TD drive though was epic.

NDSU of course, we knocked the stuffing out of you guysImage and somehow you survived and won the NC. Most teams aren't so fortunate. I haven't even gotten into Bill Fette yet, I mean I'm sure some Bison fans could talk about that referee for months or even years.

So of course EWU beating the undisputed powerhouse of the Dakota Big Three is most definitely EWU's biggest win.

If by most, you mean 5 this past season, then I agree....they must have contacted one of the other 4 teams you lost to for that state secret.

Nova win was the biggest.

That is JBB's theory, I'm just saving him the time from posting it.

But seriously I do think NDSU was the biggest win, they lost Jones and figured out how to pull games out without him. Their team staged an epic comeback and after that I think it gave them a ton of confidence that they could beat anyone no matter what. When teams get that kind of confidence they are very dangerous.

I say Nova was but MT was a close second. You can make a good argument for any of them and I think FB's reason on the NDSU win is good but it doesn't hold any more than an argument that none of this would have been likely to happen in the first place if they hadn't pulled out a great win to set the season up after the MT win. There was a whole lot more emotion and attachment on the MT game than there was in the NDSU game. The MT win let that team know that they were as good as anybody in the country and could beat anybody in the country. Without that win they may not have even had a chance to have the Nova or NDSU games listed there.

The Nova game was the one that they had to play without TJ at all. Winning that game with zero production from him is a huge win. At least against NDSU they got about 300 yds to attribute to him so just not having him for the last qtr. and a half isn't as big as getting zero from him so that disintegrates the TJ argument on NDSU's behalf.

That is without even bringing up the fact that Nova was the defending NC and a stouter test on any given day than NDSU at that particular time.

I would have to say NDSU. The other games have slipped into the dust bin of history. The NDSU game is still a hot topic, controversial and had everything a great game needs to pass into legend.

That is like saying the most popular kid in school was the one that was always getting punched because he would give the best waterworks and did not have the wherewithal to defend himself because his only training was playing chess.

The voters don't seem to agree with you at this point anyway.

I think you are dense, but so what? You are the definition of a good fan, I guess?

Contempt goes both ways and in your attempt ro act superior by displaying it you forget that I feel superior to you as well. I have the high ground.

The voters here cant agree with me. They will vote for something they know isnt true to avoid agreeing with me. They sign up for stupid to avoid smart.

This game is still a current event and being discussed on several boards today. The other games were mere formalities forgotten about almost before they were over only to be resurrected here to avoid a truth EWU and BSC fans cant handle.

EWU fans and their allies have bragged, discussed and defended themselves over the NDSU game by a factor of 10 over the others.

Man, I really hurt your feelings the other day with that "bad fan" comment didn't I? I'm sorry about that there precious. :thumb:

I tried to make up for it in the other thread by explaining what I meant so go give it a look and I'm sure all will be explained and we will be friends again.

The voters here are anonymous and it would never be known if they agreed with you or not so that's just a silly rube-like statement on your part. You can say I'm dense JBB if it makes you feel fuzzy but you and I both know that if it comes down to a battle of wits you are really not even gonna put up the proper defense that a punching bag does.

Now dont go all slostang on me.

I think the bad fan is funny. i think judgmental people are ridiculously full of themselves, just like braggarts if you ask me.

Of course they are anonymous but they still have emotional feelings and that is reflected in the voting.

Seems like you're making some kind of judgment there.

Slostang is a good man and a good fan so how would my going all slostang be seen as anything other than positive? Were you being all judgmental on him as well?

You are a very, very confused man aren't you brother?

So 20 out of 23 people came in here and instead of answering the poll truthfully, they chose to pursue an anti-JBB agenda instead?

I think they have a word for this phenomenon of the mind

:tothehand: Don't generalize NDSU fans like that. JBB just is the only Bison fan people notice because he is entertaining in a :wall: sort of way. It's a strectch to say it's entertaining but it gives people something to talk about.

But on the topic, other than the obvious national championship game, I would have to say the NOVA game. I honestly thought they had NO chance to win without TJ. He made me a believer watching him in the first half of the NDSU game. Nova was a little bit hotter than NDSU was coming into their game, making it even more impressive. Beating NDSU was not impressive, Only the last 90 yard drive was..
