I was just checking Baseball Almanac and the Phils best attendance ever prior to moving to Citizens Bank Park was the 1993 World Series year when they drew 3.1 million to the Vet, and the Vet had a 50% higher seating capacity than CBP.

It's pretty amazing how well this town supports its pro teams, other than the Sixers.

Philadelphia has officially stolen the title of "Baseball Heaven" away from St. Louis.

You'd better stop short of 116, it's all we Mariners fans have. :tothehand: :ohno: :(

I'm pretty sure Rollins was stirring the pot, as he loves doing. Oddly enough, the Phils usually back up his predictions, pissing off many New York Mutts fans in the process. :thumb:

I think the Phils will crack 100 wins. I also think 114 is crazy talk. I think they finish in the 100-105 zone, barring DL stints by any of the four aces.

All I know is the Phillies O/U number in Vegas is 96.5. Have people I work with going out there next week - going to have them take some cash out there for me.

Considering they topped that last year with all the man-games lost to the DL (especially Rollins, Utley, Howard & Victorino - even Lidge and Madson), I'm not sure what Vegas is thinking. Sure you lose Werth, but you add Cliff Lee and two-thirds of a season more of Oswalt. Over is the obvious bet.

Interesting read in the Philly paper on Werth's comments at Nationals camp - basically saying that he felt a duty to other players to take the biggest money deal he could get, regardless of where it landed him. The ultimate union man, giving up a chance for a WS and being dumped to the Nats just so other people can get more money down the road. As a corrolary (sp?) to this, he probably thinks Lee stiffed the union by going to the Phils for less money than the Yanks were giving him.

When you make it to free agency as a player, you can look at it in one of two ways: you're or a member of the MLB Players Association or you can look at it that you play for a specific team. I think once you get to free agency, you're in a big pool of players and we all really play in one organization and that's MLB.

Albert Pujols speaks fluent English, you ignorant tool.

And yes, I'd bet any sum of money that Albert Pujols could master Adobe Illustrator faster than you can figure out how to hit a 95 mph fastball.

Even the 3 packs were too expensive for my taste - the only game I'm going to right now is the May 18th game against the Rockies, and even then, I only have 3 seats for a family of 5 (were already assuming the 2 year old would sit on a lap). But we're in HR territory in left field so maybe something comes our way.

I need Andy to come through for me again. I got cut-rate tickets from him last year (he couldn't go) that were spitting distance from the visitors dugout.

If anyone has a really keen memory, it was the game against the Twins where the Phils jumped out to a big early lead and then the Twins fought back, the fans cheered Jim Thome, and he promptly hit a dagger of a pinch hit home run, sparking a 5-run rally in the 9th.

I saved the program and tickets as this was the first Phils game for both of my sons.

Phils playing an exhibition against the FSU Seminoles today (up 6-0 currently) and then get ready to visit the evils on Saturday in Tampa.

95 MPH fast ball is "easy" to hit. A fastball is straight, at that point it is about timing.

However, a 85 MPH slider 82 MPH curve would be more interesting to watch.

Love MLB network... since I don't get the Twins with my cable package - it's the only way to see games...
