NDSU's defense and coaching lost the EWU game, anyone who argues otherwise is an idiot.

Plus ewu is in a lil hicktown with 3000 fans, what a joke.

No other FCS team has beat 4 FBS teams on the road in 4 years (lost by 1 to 2 others!)

Plus the MVFC is physical, not mamby pamby.

NDSU finished it's third season in the MVFC...

THREE...you know, the same number of losses you have to UNI since joining the conference.

To be honest I thought you guys were going to crush Lehigh, I watched some of it and Lehigh did not look good....you guys so underachieved that game. Just messin with ya, should be a good one in the FargoDome this coming season....you gonna make it up to that game?? Should be a packed house since we won't be playing you on the pheasant opener like last time.

My fail? This thread is about the NDSU 2010 highlights.

If Im wrong its about which highlight is tops. I, correctly of course, have picked the huge win over Big 12 contender and Charter Big 12 Member, the Kansas Jayhawks. The routine win over the well coached, but undersized, Montana State BobCats is the crowd favorite.

I think a lot of Big Sky Fans are selecting the run away win by the BISON over the Bobcats because they couldnt believe they were wrong. Just as we see on this thread, a lot of people stuck in an old paradigm give knee-jerk negative reactions to what is emerging in the FCS.

NDSU has, as pointed out by a Bison fan earlier, had an unprecidented run of success in the FCS. For most of you that have been detractors of the BISON your experience over the past few years is a series of demotions and acceptenance with each BISON victory.

Clearly the high ranking achieved by the BISON established tham as the best team in the MVFC last year. There are other claims that could be made. I see a poster has already tried to use won/loss records in a vain attempt to show NDSU is not the best. The weakness in that analysis is simply the fact that the overall record is a blend of the week-to-week acheivment. An average of sorts. To be correct you need to be more specific.

Looking at more specific data: big wins, national ranking, SOS (Big 12 etc) and other team characteristics you are driven to the conclusion that the BiSON are the best team in the MVFC and certainly one of the top teams in the division. The impressive win at Kansas, The big playoff win at Montana State U, the big win at the Prestigiuous Fargo Dome over RMU, key conference wins including SIU and YSU taken together certainly show I am correct in my speculation.

Although all the highlights are impressive, and have won the respect of knowledgable fans everywhere, history will show the Big Win over the Big 12 Charter Member Kansas Jayhawks was the win that made all things possible. Our poll shows the Big Win over the MSU Bobcats was the most shocking to readers here.

The Kansas win will be looked back on as the start of the new NDSU Football Dynasty.

Lets review the thread:

Fans like the 2010 BISON Highlight: Big win over MSU in the playoffs
History likes the 2010 BISON HIghlight: Big win over Big 12 Charter Member Kansas Jayhawks. One of the few FCS teams in history to beat a Big 12 member.

Asides:

People seem angry with JBB
People are defensive toward Lakes
Some Bison fans get it
Some Bison fans dont

Moot Point:
NDSU @ EWU

Smack:
Pleanty of it

Conclusion:

NDSU is on the threashold of a new football dynasty. History will point to the win at Kansas as the starting point. The new dynasty may last as long as 10 years or so. There will be a minimum of 2 national championship for every 5 years of the new NDSU Dynasty. Look for a multi year run on the NCs.

NDSU-----Made an unprecedented run and is a dynasty after the Kansas win and will now win a 2 NC's every 5 years.
