Joe and his son were in fact spotted on campus by several people today. And O'Day confirmed.

Never a dull moment at UM Athletics. Today's visitor to the Hoyt Athletic Complex and the UM campus: Former NFL great Joe Montana. Welcome!

They mentioned it on the local news tonight, too. I stand corrected.
Next step would be to recruit the West Virginia basketball player to come play football. Then you could have "Montana to Mazzula". Or run the reverse..."Mazzula to Montana".
After reading more about him, I honestly have no idea what he'd even bring to this team other than his name. At least most of the transfer candidates listed so far have been spread QBs.
This honestly makes no sense. I think they're just pimping out the athletic dept. for ESPN coverage.
Well I guess someone is more into themselves than TO. Rumor has it TO was going to D-II LeMoyne-Owen but opted for Chattanooga after they refused to change their name to Terrell-Owens.

Then they could all be classified as having extremely inferior careers as compared to their fathers!

I agree. I honestly don't see him being higher than 3rd on the depth chart. Kemp and Johnson are the front runners going into next season, and I think Johnson has the best shot.
You never know, though. Montana, if he does end up here, could be amazing and win the starting job easily. His name is pretty much carrying him, though. We wouldn't give a shit about a Nate Nobody with those same stats looking at transferring.

Who knows, maybe transferring can give the spark and drive he needs? Build his own legacy at his own school instead of following his famous dad's at ND. Anything can happen.

I suppose he's Peyton and not Eli....
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
I don't know - I saw the guy play against Michigan, who had maybe one of the worst FBS defenses in memory, and he looked like a deer in the headlights.
This will be a pretty non-spectacular transfer if it actually happens. I dread the thought of a flood of eager-beaver Griz fans swarming onto this board to anoint this guy the greatest QB ever to play the game. Some of them will probably also put up stadium pics.
