They could be scary good next year when the TO is clicking on all cylinders. They certainly have the athletes in place...
Congrats on a great season. You guys will be a force to be reckoned with next year.

The TO is quite difficult to defend, especially for a staff that rarely sees it. Fortunately, App's coaches see it several times a year and have seen it for years prior, too. GSU will be very good, provided they can keep everyone eligible and can get the right personnel in the right places (which they are apparently doing). Don't make the mistake of believing that no one will beat them, though. They ran the TO for years and didn't win the championship every season. ASU, and the rest of the SoCon will have trouble with them, but they will lose games. It's enjoyable in a way to see them rise back to relevancy, but it also sucks, because they are a team that I dislike.HenZoneNation wrote:They are a scary team now and many of their players were recruited fro s spred option offense...Appy is in trouble next year.
Before you crown them champs for 2011/2012, you ought to teach them how to utilize that 'new' offensive gadget they call the forward pass. Their execution of the pass was horrible to say the least. I guess that's a by-product of the 'triple option'.SunCoastBlueHen wrote:A young team that made a ton of young team mistakes today...

You're right, there will be a big three or perhaps a big four in the SoCon but it won't include Furman for awhile and it will include Chatty (as long as they keep their coach) and GSU.ChetSteadman wrote:The TO is quite difficult to defend, especially for a staff that rarely sees it. If Furman can right the ship, we'll see a return of the "Big 3" to the SoCon, the way it is meant to be. I'm tired of this elon and wofford bullshit.

Wow...you guys must have $$ problems. I can't imagine your AD would willingly schedule Alabama to end the year otherwise.blueballs wrote: GSU plays @Elon, @ Samford, @Appy, @Woffie, and @ Alabama (why is this the last game of the season Baker? You asshole!!!).

Let the record reflect that this is the same AD that failed to submit a bid to host the QF game against Wofford, amongst his litany of other fuckups through the years, so really it is just more of the same for Sam Baker.Chemhen wrote:Wow...you guys must have $$ problems. Wofford is here to stay sir. Our domination of the fighting tinkie winkies when we are healthy in the last 4 years is proof enough. I expect more of a Big 3 right now with Wofford, App, and GSU at the top. Chatty, Furman, and maybe Elon will compete for playoff spots year in and year outChetSteadman wrote:The TO is quite difficult to defend, especially for a staff that rarely sees it. Did the Eagles' impressive stretch run have the unintended effect of saving Baker's job?blueballs wrote:Let the record reflect that this is the same AD that failed to submit a bid to host the QF game against Wofford, amongst his litany of other **** through the years, so really it is just more of the same for Sam Baker.Chemhen wrote:

No. Monken is PJ part 2. When we get the system in, next year, it is going to be very hard to beat us. Appy loses basically everyone. GSU brings everyone back. GSU will be the preseason pick to win the Socon. With Monken's recruiting abilities after this season, the sky's the limit.ChetSteadman wrote:The TO is quite difficult to defend, especially for a staff that rarely sees it. GSU will likely be the pick in the SoCon next season, and with good reason. But don't mistake this ASU team as those of 10 years ago. ASU recruits much stronger talent these days than they did back then and is more able to reload than they were in years past.eagleskins wrote: No. Monken is PJ part 2. I didn't know Cal Davis was supposed to be that good next year. Or were you referring to Cal Poly?SuperHornet wrote:After going to the Pacific Northwest THIS season, the national title is going to Superior California NEXT season.

That is largely a true statement. If you go back and look GSU's best offenses averaged over 100 yards passing/game. Also, the best GSU offenses had a homerun hitters on the outside and in the slots. This group really didn't have that. The great GSU teams of the past would catch the safety sneaking up into run support and then play action for the big play over his head, particularly on first down.89Hen wrote:Unless they can find a way to pass, too many teams can defend the triple option. Isn't that true of any offense?89Hen wrote:Unless they can find a way to pass, too many teams can defend the triple option. All it takes is running into one defense that can do it and it's over.
