Has anyone asked... why wouldn't you submit a bid for every game as soon as you can? Is there some sort of non-refundable deposit?

There's a $1000 processing fee but I thought that was a one-time fee for the entire bid package (e.g. the whole playoffs).

The minimum bids do increase by $10,000 each round after the first, but for a school with attendance like GSU I can't imagine that would make a difference.

So if neither placed a bid do they just hold it at the other semi-final site? Disqualify both teams and make the other semi-final the NC game?

In all seriousness, does anybody know what they do in that situation? If you don't bid, then you aren't guaranteeing any money. The NCAA won't let you host without guaranteeing any money. You would think they would re-open the bidding processs, but who knows.

If a second-round, quarterfinal or semifinal playoff site is not available due to the fact the institutions involved did not submit a proposed budget, the committee will contact the institutions and offer the opportunity to submit a bid at the current round’s minimum financial guarantee level. If seeded teams are not involved, the committee will determine the host institutions by applying the championship site-selection criteria in Bylaw 31.1.3.2.1.

e. If no institution is willing to submit a proposed budget at the current level, the previous round’s minimum financial guarantee will be offered. If seeded teams are not involved, the committee will determine the host institutions by applying the championship site selection criteria in Bylaw 31.1.3.2.1.

Thanks. Those rules are a little confusing to me, but that would seem to be what applies.

Well, seeing how GSU wasn't involved, I don't see why we would reimburse GSU. But, if GSU goes around reimbursing people they don't owe money to, that would explain why you didn't have the filing fee for placing a bid...

If it was a one time occurance the GSU folks might- I said might but even that's doubtful- laugh it off, but the AD at GSU is such a fuckup he can't go out in the front yard to fetch the paper without stepping in a pile of shit.

He is incompetent and that incompetence has lasted far too long and the new president needs to fix the problem with termination. No other solution is palatable to a large majority of our fans at this point. Obviously this needs to be done AFTER GSU's playoff run is over to avoid distraction but it needs to be done the first minute after the last gun sounds.
