Chatty's old bid was $150,000. When they were in competition with Frisco they said they more than doubled it. That would put Frisco's bid at $600,000 to $700,000. Doubtful.danefan wrote:I read something around the bid time which indicated that Frisco's bid was double Chatty's. I'll try and find it.

Well I believe what they have said is that 3,700 tickets were purchased directly by the schools playing. That does not, however, account for the tickets purchaseed directly from the stadium by Montana fans. Those fans were included in the number of "locals" that Chatty was touting.89Hen wrote:Not last year according to the NCAA.BDKJMU wrote:Montana has brought 7-8k to Chatty on one week notice...

Yes, you are right. That's what I read - that Chatty doubled its bid to $300,000. At least we know Frisco offered more than $300,000.89Hen wrote:Chatty's old bid was $150,000. that gets funnier everytime I hear that from a UD fan, the ignorance astounds me. So it would be safe to assume that if DSU had beaten UD that fateful day in November, I would be able to talk nonstop about how terrible the Hens are and we've ALWAYS been better?

Not sure I'm seeing the ignorance. Has there ever been a year where you thought the Hornets could have beaten the Hens? That 2007 Hornets team was by far the best DSU team in 20+ years.DSUrocks07 wrote:bluehenbillk wrote:Cmon Rocks, DSU's only MEAC title team came to Newark & how'd that turn out?![]()

Yup, the MEAC refs are still oblivious to the TE being tackled on the 4th down pass. They're still trying to figure out how Del St isn't there.Skjellyfetti wrote:Impossible! Got my family 4 pack today (4 seats 4 dogs 4 sodas) around the 30 yd line = $120 + tax. In the endzone the 4 pack is $100. Talking to the stadium guy on the phone, he sounded a little frustrated, his having never dealing with the NCAA before. He said they have a lot of restrictions on their ability to sell tickets. Of course they have to save many for the participants. I'm looking forward to my first Championship game.

I think about 9 members of the Tigers went from playing that Saturday in December to starting the next day in the NFL.
That's where the a10 has its b-ball tourney.

Pre-1980 ABC had the exclusive to all NCAA football. No ESPN & Fox, and NBC & CBS were frozen out. The stone ages.OhioHen wrote:Notice the big thing missing today that they had back in the day?jd of de wrote: They don't build'm like this anymore

OK you assholes, I go online this morning to look at flights to Frisco... now I'm looking at $380. That puts me over a big tier on my miles card. DC to Atlanta = $270. Fuck you Frisco cocksuckers.

Re: Championship Game - Cotton Bowl
American out of BWI to DFW is dirt cheap. Booked my dad and I roundtrip, non-stop, two nights hotel (not a roach motel either), and rental car for <$700 total. No excuse not to go when it's that cheap.89Hen wrote:OK you assholes, I go online this morning to look at flights to Frisco... now I'm looking at $380. That puts me over a big tier on my miles card. Fuck man I would have loved a deal a like that at any time. It was always $1200-$1400 for that same kind of package when I went for a single!93henfan wrote:American out of BWI to DFW is dirt cheap. Yeah, still kinda sucks for the EWU contingent. I just plugged in my same package on American's website leaving from Spokane and it's $1,100. That bites.Ursus A. Note to EWU fans: You are getting screwed. Stick it to the man and stay at home for this one. Even "America" Airlines has ECB.

It's basically $285 everywhere I look from the Baltimore/Washington area leaving on the Thursday and returning on Saturday. You're getting ripped off if you're paying $400 round trip.
Re: Championship Game - Cotton Bowl
Yep. You need to steer clear of the airlines that spike their prices within the 21-day window. US Air is one of them. Southwest and Air Tran are not. AA is really the sweet ticket with their hub at DFW. Also, I believe BWI is consistently the cheapest airport out of the area.State Line Liquors wrote:It's basically $285 everywhere I look from the Baltimore/Washington area leaving on the Thursday and returning on Saturday. At any rate, it's nice to be talking airline price-shopping in the third week of December.

Irony of all ironies... the only fares that are $280 have me getting off the plane in Atlanta.State Line Liquors wrote:It's basically $285 everywhere I look from the Baltimore/Washington area leaving on the Thursday and returning on Saturday.
