Cheney, Washington
Anyone got a weather prediction for next Saturday's game? I have seen snow forcasted for the next 5 days!!! How much snow? Also, if we are arriving on Friday morning and leaving on Monday morning, what is there to do? Is there like a "shopping/dining" area in Spokane/Cheney? Maybe a "Landing/River"
area like there is in Baltimor's Inner Harbor? Good luck to the Eagles!
GO REDHAWKS!!!!!!

The forcast is an asswhoopin for semon bro. For dining options & entertainment make that 15 minute drive over to spokane for the most part. Although there are some bars in Cheney that arent too shabby.

Don't mind BF, he's our resident trash-talker. There's not a whole lot in Cheney aside from a couple good bars and pizza places, so if you're looking for sights and entertainment, head into Spokane. There's some suggestions in this thread on our forum.Outlaw wrote:Wow!!! I think I might stay home now. I always have been one to run from an "ass whoppin". As for the weather, there was about 6" on the ground when I left on Wednesday, and there's supposed to be another 6-10" by tomorrow afternoon, so don't get your hopes up of it clearing up any time soon. I'd imagine it'll be around freezing or a little under next weekend, with a 50/50 chance of snow.

Re: Cheney, Washington
The forecast for next Saturday is for a 30% chance of snow showers with a high 28 and a low of 15. We are forecasted to stay below freezing for at least the next 10 days, so we should have about a foot of snow on the ground when you arrive.
As for food and drink, I'll add that if you're in Spokane, Odoherty's Irish Pub, Pete's Pizza (their calzone's are of the charts), Gibliano's Dueling Piano Bar, Jack and Dan's Bar and Grill (made famous by Gonzaga hoops), Northern Lights Brewery, The Elk Public House, and The Onion Bar and Grill are good bars with good eats. As for finer dining, Milfords Fish House, Hill's Restaurant and Clinkerdaggers are all landmarks and very good.
When in Cheney, Immix is the best restaurant, but Lenny's for Italian and Corona Village for mexican are also good choices.
As for activities, if you're into the outdoors, rent some snow shoes or xcountry ski's from REI Spokane and go to either Mt. Spokane State Park, or Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge and the Columbia Plateau Trail. Turnbull is just 5 miles south of Cheney and is a mixed habitat of ponderosa pine forests, shrub steppe, and wetlands habitats that provide a decent opportunity to view the large resident herd of Elk, white tale and mule deer, coyotes, beaver, a variety of birds and even the occassional moose.
Other things to do in the area are sightseeing downtown Spokane and Riverfront Park with all of the Christmas lights, or go to historic Brownes Addition, check out the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, and stop by for a pint or some grub at the aforementioned Elk Pub.
You can also make the short 45 minute trip to Couer d' Alene Idaho that is located on the shores of Lake Couer d' Alene, has a dressed up downtown and waterfront area, and has a ton of shops and bars.

Re: Cheney, Washington
What we as a team have, or what TJ alone has? If the latter, prepare to be disheartened by your D. If I had much $, I'd put it on TJ busting a 40+ yard TD against your D. To prepare for him by watching film is one thing, but unless you've played against him before (which I'm fairly sure no one on SEMO's D has), you're going to take a bad angle thinking you have him cut off, and he'll run right past you. He's like a cobra... he'll dance and sway, lulling you into a sense of complacency, and then all you see is a blur as he's 5-10 yards past you racing for the endzone as you wonder wtf just happened.Outlaw wrote:Bring em on Yardbird. 1.) Your gonna SEMO TJ than you can handle
2.) How do you make a SEMO stew?
Add some EWU, a hint of red turf, and continue to beat them for an hour.
3.) What do you call a South East Missouri football team playing up North?
SEMON
All I can make up for now, anyone else care to take a whack at it?

Thanks catbob, he truly is remarkable. But what I really like about this team is after he went down with injuries for a few games, the rest of the offense was forced to pick up their production, and they did. The mis-perception all season has been that we can't win without TJ or that he is our entire offense. While he is certainly very important, we now also have a QB that is taking care of the ball better, has become much more efficient, is starting to use the TE's more and has a 1st team all BSC receiver in 6'5" Brandon Kauffman that presents a serious match up problem.catbob wrote:TJ is the most explosive back I have seen in the Big Sky... maybe ever. Here's a short clip of some of his highlights. The one towards the end against Sac State is amazing.Outlaw wrote:I hear that he is a great player.
While he truly has breakaway speed, I think Ursus described him best after the Montana and game in saying that he terrific "vision" and "flow".
