Pick the Winners: Round 1
Pick the Winners: Round 1
Simple, pick the winners for each matchup. Put in poll format, but you can also post who you picked...

And yes, I am the only person at this point voting for Coastal and Lehigh.

I picked the obvious favorite except in the SCSU - GSU game.
I think SCSU matches up really well with Georgia Southern. They have a really good defense and should do a pretty good job limiting the triple option. I think they can score enough points to win.

Re: Pick the Winners: Round 1
but but but... South Carolina State is grossly overrated and they aren't worthy enough to carry a high school teams jock straps let alone actually beat a power conference opponent. So you must be mistaken... as a result your vote has been changed to Georgia Southern.Skjellyfetti wrote:I picked the obvious favorite except in the SCSU - GSU game.

Re: Pick the Winners: Round 1
With GSU-SCSU it's the 10th ranked defense in the FCS versus the 1st ranked defense in the FCS. This game will come down to turnovers. GSU outgained Furman 403-246 but the game was close because GSU set up Furman in the red zone twice with turnovers. If SCSU can force a turnover or two and get another from mistakes by GSU then they win.
If the turnover marigin is even then I think we're just going to be too much for them. No disrepect to SCSU, but without Ford they just aren't the same team that went down to the wire in Boone last year.

Will Ford was a nonfactor in that game. 8 rushes 22 yards. It's their defense and they're just as good (if not better).Pwns wrote:No disrepect to SCSU, but without Ford they just aren't the same team that went down to the wire in Boone last year.
