There is no doubt that USU is the best team remainaing in the WAC....there is also little doubt that they will be next to leave
To get to 12, the MWC will invite one more member, but it probably wont be USU, they will probably invite someone like SMU, Houston, and UTEP to try to keep TCU from bolting.
Utah State should have taken the MWC's offer when they had the chance
It's funny when you guys post that the MWC should add a Texas school to try and keep TCU. We could invite every CUSA texas school and TCU will leave. Simple math BE is a BCS AQ and makes more money and has more exposure. MWC less money, non-AQ, less exposure. Why turn down being the CEO of Apple to keep your job at MCDonald's.
Yes I know my school just got a job at mcdonald's be we were volunteering at the homeless shelter cafeteria(WAC) because we had no job.

The only way it makes sense for TCU is if the invite is ALL Sports. TCU others sports in the MWC doesn't help the MWC. And the money better be damn good for TCU to fly all the teams across country.
someone on the other board did the math, travel is less in the BE for them than in the MWC. Hawaii only makes it worse. TCU already said all or nothing. BE announced that they are going ahead with expansion. So it will be TCU or TCU and UCF. I can't see them getting left out. Even if money was the same, which it's not the AQ makes it an easy choice.

Seriously.
The Big East will not be around in 5 years......the Mountain West will be. The MWC probably covets Houston at this point.......Tulsa would be next if TCU leaves. 16 is not out of the question either if the Big 12 ends up folding down the road.
CPAlum wrote:Okay I have said this before and been laughed at but I'll say it again. In 2012 (if not sooner) the Big Sky is stronger than the WAC. I really don't see how anybody can argue that. Given the recent additions to the BSC along with the additions and defections in the WAC the BSC is a more competitive and stronger conference. It may not stay that way but that is sure how it looks right about now.
I tend to agree. The Big Sky took the two that the WAC coveted (Cal Poly and UC-Davis) and kept the one that the WAC tried to steal (Montana). If the Big Sky was FBS, chances are good that the rest of the WAC (or most of them) would be absorbed into the Big Sky. The stigma of "moving down" (true or not) probably will keep most teams in the WAC.
We as a conference are getting pretty comparable with the CAA and the SoCon. It is not much of a stretch to say the CAA has more pull in their region than the MAC and the SoCon has more pull in their region than the Sun Belt. One could say that the Big Sky has more pull in the west than the WAC.

Okay, so simple solution: put the WAC, Sun Belt and MAC in FCS and the Big Sky, CAA and Southern in FBS. Problem solved .
Obviously, it ain't gonna happen, but it is kinda shocking just how bad the bottom of the barrel in the FBS ranks has gotten. The disparity between the top and bottom of FBS is just ridiculous. Thank God Montana decided to stay put.
SDG borrowing a concept from soccer. I'm shocked! Shocked!!!
