Big Sky Week 12

Post by Mvemjsunpx »

Idaho St. 14-42 EWUThe Bengals are good at getting garbage touchdowns. That's pretty much it.

Portland St. 17-31 NAUI "guarantee" Nigel Burton will lose this game.

Montana St. 27-30 MontanaAs with many Big Sky matchups, home field decides everything.

Sac State 31-21 UC Davis — Sac trails the series big time, but is undefeated against UCD under Sperbeck.

Weber 24-48 Texas TechWildcats choke away their playoff hopes. ;)

That's almost exactly what I predicted for the EWU game on the Bengals forum, Mvemjsunpx.

ISU 13 @ 42 EWU

PSU 24 @ 35 NAU

MSU 24 @ 28 UM

SAC 38 @ 25 UCD

WSU 20 @ 45 TTU

One thing about Mvem, dude knows how to say a lot in a few words. I'm taking notes.

Now the long version...

49-9 which means I need to be perfect this week to equal my lowest number of misses in a season (I had 9 misses the first year I started predicting). My attempt at perfection. All just my opinion. Here they are...

ISU @ EWU---Eagles playing for a spot in the playoffs, Bengals just playing out the string. Thinking here that the Eagles could overlook the Bengals and have their eye on the playoffs. The Bengals may be playing the last game for their coach, which means strange things could happen. I said could, not that they will...EWU 30, ISU 21.

PSU @ NAU---The Jacks may be playing for their coach's job while the Vikings would like to end the year with a win. Oddly, a Vikings loss would put them with a worse record than Glanville's last year. Both teams are just playing with no hope for either to continue the season. Just playing so who wants it more...NAU 28, PSU 17.

Sac State @ UC-Davis---A big rivalry game that will make its way into the conference next year. UC-Davis would love to put a major dent in the Hornets dream season after coming up short this year against Portland State and Weber State. As with any rivalry, a good season would seem hollow for the Hornets without a win over their rivals. Give them the good season...Sac State 38, UC-Davis 30.

WSU @ Texas Tech---In the "why" game, the Wildcats finish out their season venturing into Big 12 country and playing Texas Tech. Why is a good question for this game. Why play it the last game of the year, why now, why the Big 12, why?...Texas Tech 42, WSU 17.

and for the big one...

MSU @ UM---Hard to predict as usual. The Cats win, they get the AQ for the playoffs from the conference. The Grizzlies win and it opens the door for both teams, as well as Eastern Washington to make it into the playoffs. The Grizzlies lose and they could be left out. On paper, the Griz have struggled while the Cats have played to the level of their opponent recently, which means they shouldn't have any problem getting up for this game. Come to think of it, no one should have any problem getting up for this game...UM 22, MSU 20.

ISU @ EWU 24-21 I HOPE I'm wrong. I'm probably reading too much into history and the desire to send Zam out a winner.

PSU @ NAU 35-31 NAU's latest late-season slide continues.

MSU @ Montana 42-17 Thereby killing what few playoff hopes Sac has.

Sac @ UCFE 65-3 The Extension likely goes the route of ISU/UNC after this debacle.

WSU @ TX Tech 31-28 The BBQs claim the final BSC playoff spot.

PSU @ NAU - NAU 28-17

MSU @ Montucky - MSU 31-28

WSU @ Texas Tech - Texas Tech 42-10

Sperbeck is 2-1, he lost in his first year but has since railed off two straight.

EWU over ISU - ISU has a habit of winning at least one BSC game, but I don't see them doing it this season.

NAU over PSU - Could be a good one. No idea if Herrick will play or not.

UM over MSU - Maybe UM gets their shit together in the final game, they finally have a reason to.

Sac State over cal-davis - I think it will be close, but I hope we steamroll them.

TX Tech over WSU - No idea how TT is this season. Either way I don't expect WSU to win.

Yeah, you're right.

For some reason I was thinking Sperbeck was third year & not fourth year.

Why? An ISU victory does nothing for Sac State, but more importantly it does nothing for the Big Sky. You wouldn't want to see at least one Bigy Sky team highly seeded going into the play-offs?

The Brawl is going to be a great game. Won't be a shoot out and it sounds like the weather will play a factor. I think the Cats have the better O-Line and D-Line and will control the line of scrimage.

Did they control the line of scrimmage when they were giving up 61 to Sac State? Or 35 to UNC? or 34 to NAU?

What? A Sac team that took the Almighty Bobcats to OT and only lost by three is going to lose to a .500 school with no recent history of beating us? Are you looking at the same schedule your fellow Cat fans are? Just about every other Cat fan on this thread is against you on that score, Cap'n.

Are you just p!$$ed that we almost beat you? Do you want some indirect revenge? Do you wanna punch a pillow?

Hey AZ, go back and look at our starting front for that game. We were down a few players in that game and some were playing out of position. We are getting everyone back healthy. For the first time in years, I can say that MSU D-Line is very capable of dominating the griz O-Line. MSU will control the line of scrimage and Chase is going to have a LONG DAY and Roper will be on his ass all day long!

Eastern Washington 35 Idaho State 10
ISU is a mess! EWU will win this one easily. Although he probably won't win the award (D.McGhee from MSU will), Taiwan Jones is the best player in the conference. Hopefully, he'll show what he can do for NFL scouts.

Northern Arizona 32 Portland State 21
Like EWU's Jones, NAU's Michael Herrick (once a Walter Payton Award candidate) has suffered through a few injuries this year, setting him back a little. Don't be fooled! In his last Big Sky Conference game, at home, with his coach's job at stake and 3 pins in his injured thumb, Herrick wills the Jacks to victory with a 300 + passing game. It was great watching you play, young man. Good luck. :notworthy:

Montana State 24 Montana 20
Time is up for the Griz. The Bobcats are a better team and will defeat the Grizzlies this time. With all the great offensive players in this game, it will be MSU's defense that determines the outcome. Although a close game,, MSU's McGhee will make enough first downs to support the defense. Congrats to the Bobcats.

Sacramento State 35 UC Davis 20
Welcome to the Big Sky, Aggies. Sac State is probably the best team in the Big Sky nobody ever heard of! On paper, they don't scare you with size. But, their quickness is deceptive and they disrupt opponents on defense. The Hornets will win this game and Davis will wonder if they made the right decision. :o

Texas Tech 55 Weber State 14
Hoke or Higgins? Does it really matter? The Red Raiders are going to punish WSU after a disappointing year for them. Hey Weber, collect your paycheck, hope nobody gets hurt and get out of Dodge before someone recognizes you. You were lucky to get by NAU last week; look out for the grim reaper!
