UND @ SDSU (I wouldn't be surprised if UND pulls off the win, but I'll stick with conference loyalty for my pick)
NDSU @ MSU
UNI @ WIU
Indy St @ SIU
That would make the final conference standings:
UNI 7-1
NDSU 4-4
WIU 4-4
INS 4-4
ILS 4-4
SDSU 4-4
MSU 4-4
SIU 4-4
YSU 1-7
a nice 7-way tie for 2nd

UND @ SDSU - SDSU by an uncomfortablely small margin. With Minnet out, I hope they don't try to rely on O'Brien's decision making
NDSU @ MSU - Honestly this game could go either way. The quarter on my desk says Bison.
UNI @ WIU - UNI is playing for a bye week. The panthers are peaking, Necks are not.
Indy St @ SIU - Until SIU's victory against WIU last week, I would have taken the Trees. Now taking SIU from home field advantage.

I didn't realize that Minnet was out. Given that, I think UND might take that one.

You know, I am a true believer in Santa Claus, I love movies like Rocky, Hoosiers, the Natural, and Rudy! I am also going to ride the Leatherneck Express down to Macomb Saturday, and the last time I took the train to Macomb was after Springbreak in 1972! I know UNI is talented and I know it will take a super effort from the Necks! But folks, no one gave the Leathernecks a chance at the beginning of the season anyway, so they have nothing to loose! Missouri State, SDst, and SIU have all had their way with the Necks basically because of a running game that has sat the Neck offense for too long during the game. This time, things will be different! You know sometimes things happen because they are suppose to, lighting strikes, the planets are aligned! Heres to a Neck fan on the final game with real grass at Hanson Field!
UND @ SDSU SDSU No matter what, SDst plays with vigor - a statement for 2011?
NDSU @ MSU MSU - Alot more talent than they have shown even though Bison have had a good season!
UNI @ WIU WIU - The Necks are truly back - the best is yet to come!
Indy St @ SIU ISU - Time to give a team the respect they deserve. Kill influence is about to graduate, what's next?
Okay, there you have it! Call me a romantic! I still think the lights exploding at the end of the "Natural" are real!
jc
ps. The Summit league is here to stay. Non-conference wins have been few and far between in the past but after SDst's win at Iowa and IPFW's overtime loss to Xavier in OT, I think things are changing.

Re: MVFC Picks Week 12
If history is any indication of what this WIU/UNI game will be like, it will be long day for the Necks. Since Farley took over UNI is 7-2 against:
17-14, 12-35, 38-30, 36-13, 41-24, 13-24, 42-3, 30-6, and 34-0.
Yep, the last 3 years UNI has outscored WIU 106-9.
The only hope WIU has is that they are fighting for the playoffs and UNI has already locked it up, so UNI doesn’t play to win.
Good luck with that

Re: MVFC Picks Week 12
NDSU @ MSU Its only 2010 but this is the first "Game of The Century" for NDSU. The Book of The BISON LORE is open. The page is blank but the pens are freshly loaded with ink. The team has completed the work on fundamentals, blocking tackeling throwing, catching and running. The Study for the game plan has begun. Departure from Fargo is imminent.
UNI @ WIU Dream upset. It doesnt matter to NDSU anymore we win or lose and the BISON control their own destiny. Handing the Panthers a loss now would be good.
UND @ SDSU UND scored a moral win in Madison this week in basketball (the basketball team sat in the luggage compartment of the hockey teams bus) and will certainly score a win in this one, win or lose. They play hard and the fans and program swell with pride when they keep it within striking distance for the "WIN". After last weeks "win" at Montana their coach even said they played pretty darn good. He said they went "toe-to-toe" with Idaho after a 45-0 loss.
Indy St @ SIU NDSU beat them both but the SIU fans tell me they have one of the worst teams in the country ever since the BISON spanked them.

Re: MVFC Picks Week 12
The 'necks just had the bad timing to catch the Salukis on a healing streak, the secondary is still decimated but we have some DLs and LBs back that at least let us help with some pass rush.Trapped in CA wrote:UND @ SDSU - SDSU by an uncomfortablely small margin.
NDSU - Bison need to step up and rise to the level expected of an MVC team, and a down year like this is a great chance to finish above the pack and will help with confidence.
UNI- I saw them both lose at Saluki stadium, UNI is more athletic.
SDSU- with relative ease.
SIU - Salukis got some important players back last week and it showed. ISU wants to pick on SIU's still thin secondary, and the 'dawgs will counter with lots of blitzing to try to help. If ISU's QB is mobile he may run for some big yards. On offense look for SIU to stay with the Two TE, FB lead, smash mouth game that pounded the Necks and kept the ball for 38 minutes last week.
You matter. Unless you multiply yourself by c squared. Then you energy.
