So, in theory, there could be NOT ENOUGH eligible teams. If all 13 bubble teams lose, there won't be enough 7 DI win teams. If Liberty gets the AQ from Stony, and then the committee would be forced to take a 6 win team.

This WON'T happen, but it'd be funny.

JD: We've already established that 6 wins IS technically qualifying but not necessarily competitive. Given the expansion of the playoffs, that COULD come into play.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Thanks for the update. One thing not mentioned but fairly obvious is that the ten conference champions that will be Automatic Qualifiers are likely among the 19 teams that have already qualified for at-large consideration. Only the Big South and Southland conferences have the potential to have a champion outside of these 19 teams.

IN with 1 win - Stony/Liberty, Montana, NDSU, W&M, McNeese, Villanova*, Weber*, WIU*, Chattanooga* (*by virtue of who they be beating)

Sweating it out: SCSt, UMass, UNH, Richmond, GSU, SEMO, SacSt, Dayton, Jacksonville

Did I miss anyone?

BTW, as an interesting aside, this could have been the year that if it weren't for the Bayou Classic, we could have seen a SWAC team actually get an invite to the playoffs. If Grambling were to have played and beaten Southern this week instead of next week, they would be 9-2 with a close loss to LaTech and an OT loss to Texas Southern who is going to represent the SWAC West in the SWAC CG. :|
I don't know what that is. If anyone has the time, this needs to be taken from where SumitUp left off after Week 9 where 7 teams had already qualified. How many have qualified after 11 weeks? I know it is more than the 10 you showed because you did not list Old Dominion (not that we will actually get into the field of 20).
My list is reality, not fantasy. The "IN" list is teams that are in the playoff field, without a doubt.

I understand, but the title of the thread is about Elimination and Eligibility. That is where the argument can begin for 6-5 teams and the expanded playoff field.

Nobody is ever "eliminated". If the definition of "Eliminated" is that they will have less than 7 DI wins and therefore fall short of what the committee says will put them in jeopardy of not being selected... we may as well "eliminate" a bunch of teams from the list because they were/are in jeopardy even with 7 DI wins.
