Re: SEMO
Anyone have any thoughts on this game? I know the EKU loss takes a little bit of the game Nationally, but not for the Southeast Missouri Redhawks or their fans. We have had a great year and want to finish it up with a great win !!!!

Re: SEMO
Not close to 100%. You would be 8-2 in the eyes of the committee with no wins over ranked teams and coming from a conference that hasn't had a playoff win since 1998.Outlaw wrote:Pretty sure we will be in no matter what happens this weekend.
You will need some help. Assuming you lost:
Already in the field...
1 Robert Morris
2 Jacksonville State
3 Wofford
4 Appalachian State
5 Delaware
6 Montana State
7 Eastern Washington
8 MVFC winner (UNI/WIU)
9 Southland winner (TBD)
10 Big South winner (Liberty/Stony)
11 MEAC winner (B-CC)
12 PL winner (Lehigh)
Most likely already in the field...
13 W&M
One more win and they're probably in...
14 UMass
15 Villanova/UNH winner
16 Cal Poly
17 Loser of UNI/WIU
Two wins and they're in...
18 NDSU
19 Montana
20 ? could be: winner of GSU/Furman game, an 8-3 UCA, a 9-2 SEMO, a 9-2 SCSt....
SEMO is not even close to a lock with a loss to JSU.
Here's what you're rooting for if you're a SEMO fan (or a fan of any team looking for one of the last at-larges)...
Montana State > Montana
SDSU > NDSU
SIU > WIU
SFA > NWSt
McNeese > UCA
Elon > Furman
UCD > Cal Poly
UNH and UD > Nova
Morgan or NCAT > SCSt

Re: Southeast Missouri State
Outside of making Southeast a lock for a share of the conference title, the loss by Jacksonville State actually hurt Southeast in their quest for a bid and placement in the Championship Bracket. Beating a one-loss Jax State on Saturday will not have the same impact as beating them if the Gamecocks were undefeated. If the Redhawks were able to beat the Gamecocks to give them their first loss it may have given them a seed in the bracket. Now, if they defeat a one-loss team they will be the automatic qualifier but are unlikely to be treated as well in the draw.

Listen Dude. I simply asked where he played football at. is that a bad question? No one implied anything other than that. for you to start running your mouth, makes me think you might just be one of them little sissy boys that hides behind a keyboard. Grow up and quit being so damn sensitive. By the way, i am guessing that you did not ever play any football. Probably cheered for many though and kept them full of H2O !!!clenz wrote:So one has to have played college ball to know the subject?Outlaw wrote:

Oh, sorry........ didn't see where you were from until now !!! Guess that loss in your brand new stadium is still kind of "STINGING" a bit ??Outlaw wrote:Listen Dude. I did play football, and I was pretty damn good...I played in college even before a knee injury ended my career. That, however, doesn't matter as it has no bearing on my knowledge of FCS football.

I met him once or twice, but not enough to say that I know him. He would have no memory of me.Outlaw wrote:Speking of crdibility, did happen to know Coach Brandon Hall when he was at Northern Iowa? I had good interactions with him though when I did meet him.

So, I'm pinning this guy as a former lineman who took a few too many shots to the head.
I didn't say anything about SEMO's team, just that you're not exactly a bright spot in the world.

Re: SEMO
I think you'll find Outlaw that many on this board are very familiar with the selection process. Not to say 89 Hen is correct, just that all the "pick the tournament bracket" competitions on this board tend to hone skills.Outlaw wrote:Just curious, but are you on the Selection Committee 89Hen?
Everyone chimes in as to why a particular team will or won't make the tourney, with the reasons being simple speculation or because the tourney rules prohibit certain matchups.

Re: SEMO
Thanks Seattle Griz. I can appreciate that. I just wish that some of these guys on this board would have the courtesy to respect the others "team". We all know that SEMO has struggled in the past, but they are having a very good year this year and should be commended. All they can do is play whomever is on their schedule. Thanks again.
