Eastern Washington 7-2 (6-1 Big Sky)
Montana State 7-2 (5-1 Big Sky)
Montana 6-3 (5-2 Big Sky)
Weber State 5-3 (4-2 Big Sky)
Sacramento State 4-4 (3-3 Big Sky)
Northern Arizona 4-4 (2-3 Big Sky)
Portland State 2-6 (1-4 Big Sky)
Northern Colorado 2-7 (1-5 Big Sky)
Idaho State 1-7 (0-6 Big Sky)

Top 25 might be a bit pre-mature. Weber only has one quality win (Montana) so far - other than that, they've beaten the bottom three Big Sky teams and a struggling UC-Davis.

Weber's been too inconsistent this year for me to put them in my top 25 yet; but beat MSU next weekend and you'll definitely be in there. I'm pulling for you. :thumb:

I can agree with your comments...though the Davis team we struggled against scored 0 TD's in the game against our D. Was a good game for our new, young D. Also, Davis had an FBS win this year, does San Jose count?

Defensively I am optimistic for the future of WSU with the youngest team in the conf and only losing 2 players on D for next yr.

:+1: Ranger's analysis is spot on!

Top 25 maaaaaybe, but one quality win does not justify a ranking much higher than the mid twenties.

If Weber wins in Bozeman next week they will deserve a jump in the rankings, and if they beat both MSU and Northern Arizona to get 7 DI wins and close out the conference 6-2, they definitely deserve a trip to the playoffs.

One thing to keep in mind is that college football teams are often made up of young, inexperienced players. They grow and learn and progress at different rates, such that the teams we see at the first of the season are not the same teams we see at the end of the season. This is especially true for Weber's 2010 team, as exemplified by the tremendous number of turnovers early in the season.

Weber's offensive stats have consistently shown that they can hang with anyone, and beat them when mistakes are reduced.

Very true comments. Teams need to "peak" at the right time. Luckily for EWU, I feel like we are peaking at just the right time going into a bye week with the bulk of our schedule done and the remaining 2 games at home. I'm happy we're playing at a high level towards the end of the regular season and now we have an opportunity to get some guys healthy and an extra week to prepare for a very good SUU team. :thumb:

As far as Weber goes. there was a point, maybe last week, where I would have completely counted them out of the play-off picture. What a difference a week makes. Absolutely, if Weber wins it's remaining two conference games they will be in. Hopefully you can carry the momentum from the Montana game into Bozeman next week - it's proving a very difficult place for teams to get a win at this year.

I would still put Sac State over Weber right now. The head to head aside (which the Hornets hold the edge anyway), they both have an FBS loss but the Hornets FBS loss was to a top 15 team. Also, this week, while Weber beat a strong top 25 program by 9 at home, the Hornets beat a strong top 25 team by 30 on the road. Weber's remaining schedule is much tougher than Sac State's so it could all change in a week or two, but for now I'd give the edge to Sac State, subject to change of course.

That argument convinces me. Especially the way the Hornets played NAU. I agree, Sac St should be ranked before/ahead of Weber. Don't forget, they already beat Weber this year.Thats looking more like a quality loss for Weber.

If SEMO can appear in peoples top 10s... than no reason Weber State cant be ranked.

It would be better to put both Sac State and Weber State in the top 25 rather than other teams with better records and poor SOS.

I ranked Weber 24th in my AGS poll.

I thought about Sac St as well.

I put them in, they have basically the same record as um, except one of their losses was to an FBS rather than an FCS

Of course I thinking that next week I can remove them ;)

A good argument for ranking Weber over Sac St is that Weber has a 3 game winning streak over Sac St's 1.

Huh? Weber 5-3 overall, 4-2 in conference. URI is 3-5, 2-3.
