Agree. I foresee them getting throttled in the playoffs.ToTheLeft wrote:Butler beat Valpo 48-nothing today.
Can we stop ranking JU because they "didn't lose by as much as they could have" to App and beat Valpo by 90?
Non DI's Franklin and St. Joe's both beat Valpo by huge margins. It's nothing to brag about. JU won close ones over Drake and USD, they're not blowing out every PFL team.

So you are saying that you have to actually beat someone, not just anyone, for it to be rankable?ToTheLeft wrote:Butler beat Valpo 48-nothing today.

Probably not. I also think Dayton should be considered ahead of them since they have a good win (RMU). Dayton & JU don't play each other, though, so that position battle will be decided by the committee.dbackjon wrote:They won't even get a bid...Grizalltheway wrote:

Which is why I asked.CoachL wrote:No, he wouldn't say that because if that were the case, his beloved Liberty would not be ranked!clenz wrote:So you are saying that you have to actually beat someone, not just anyone, for it to be rankable?
It's funny they will use that when talking about other teams, yet rank Liberty top 12-15

HAHAHA
Liberty beats the second worst FBS team....a team that wouldn't be top 40 in the FCS and the bottom of the barrel FCS teams and they are God's gift to football.......well.....wait......
Liberty has Liberty played a team with a winning record yet?

21...last week.
I don't know this week.
I give more respect to teams who may have lost, but have played higher quality teams than Presby and St. Francis....the only two teams over .500 Liberty has played this year, they lost too....and JMU is on the cusp of falling from the >.500 ranks.

Aren't you one of the people who cries it's not always just about the record? JMU isn't the same as Stony Brook, yet their records are similar. And UNI's record isn't that much different than either of those.clenz wrote:21...last week.

And we can't help but play Presby. Scheduling St. Francis was stupid, but we can't help but play Presby and VMI and such.
We lost on the road at the only teams with winning records that we've played, and we've pretty much dominated every other game, except for BSU which we won on the road.
I agree that we're probably a few spots too high, but frankly, we're doing about everything we can with our schedule. We were a couple of plays from being undefeated and being disputably a top 5 team right now. As an LU fan I see what this team could be, which is why I opened the thread to ask what we really are, figuring you'd post in it and cry about how we're too high, so there could be some discussion about it. I don't want to over rank us, but I also don't buy that we're not a top 25 team, which appears to fall in line with some comments people make, so...
Regardless, I plan on moving Liberty down in my poll this week. As teams lost, LU kinda slid up my rankings and I need to correct where they're at. However, I doubt we're going to go down at all in the actual polls unless we lose, in which case it would be a hard fall.
BTW, St. Francis is 1 point behind Cal Poly on the road right now.

There are boorish fans on this board, CoachL, but TTL is hardly one of them. In fact, he's one of the nicest people here.
If you believe otherwise, well, that says something else about YOU.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

He pulled my thoughts out of context, and got his panties in a bunch over it. It's okay, water under the bridge.
