You Griz dorks need to get over yourselves. Its always been Cat Griz. PERIOD. Thats how its is. Yes the Griz have been dominate in the series, but it will always be Cat Griz to fans on both sides of the rivalry. So you dorks can continue calling at Fizz Cat but you're wrong.

Re: UM-MSU....Playoffs?
I spent several years of my childhood in Missoula. I went to many Griz games (the Dickenson era), both my parents (UM alums) and grandparents (life long Griz fans) in Missoula were all huge Griz fans. I never once heard any of them call it Griz/Cat, nor did I hear anyone else in my years in Missoula call it as such. It must be a recent thing.
If memory serves it correct, I don't even ever remember hearing it until about 2003 or so.

So which is sillier; that we insist on it being Griz-Cat, or that the Cat fans are always sensitive about us saying that?

I didn't mean that as smack, AZ. I recognize you follow the Griz when able, which is a whole lot more than I'm able to follow mine.
That was a response to grizzaholic's thread-opening post questioning if you'd go to a Griz-Cat playoff game.

Re: UM-MSU....Playoffs?
Well, I was at Griz/SFA last year, all the way from AZ....so, it could happen. In fact, given than I'm in AZ, it's actually kind of amazing that I've seen 3 of the Griz last 9 games in person.SuperHornet wrote:I didn't mean that as smack, AZ. Re: UM-MSU....Playoffs?
Rob Ash is safe just awarded 3 year extension before the season started. This has also turned out to be very young team that is playing. We lose our LT, TE (we are stacked there), starting safeties (but young guys are playing a lot), two DT, but their backups Minter (who leads team in interceptions) and Kelli'i already play a lot and there isn't any drop off there.
Ash is safe.
As far as the Brawl of the Wild goes it has always been called Cat Griz but after 16 straight years of losing some UM fans started calling it Griz Cat. So what if UM fans don't know that in the alphabet that C comes before G..that is why they are Griz fans.
They have earned the right to brag about their dominance in the Cat -Griz rivalry but it is the Cat -Griz rivalry.
If nothing else other way sounds like the person is ignorant when you say it.

Griz fans who call it Griz/Cat have been known to enjoy jelly and peanut butter sandwiches with their Dad and Mom.

Have to admit, I was wrong. It's not MSU winning in the playoffs that's going to prevent this match-up from happening. It's UM making it to the playoffs.89Hen wrote:Wouldn't that require MSU to win in the playoffs?grizzaholic wrote:it seems like this could be the year that they meet up in the Brawl of the Wild and then in the playoffs as well.

Re: UM-MSU....Playoffs?
If we end the last of our 3 big streaks this year (playoffs, conference titles), it will be kind of a relief in some ways. I won't be constantly neurotic about us ending our streaks anymore89Hen wrote:Have to admit, I was wrong. It's not MSU winning in the playoffs that's going to prevent this match-up from happening. And our odds are still pretty good, solely because our last 2 game are at home. MSU has been weak the last couple weeks and we should beat UND

Re: UM-MSU....Playoffs?
I think the Griz will make the playoffs. North Dakota shouldn't be a nail-biter, at least, and I think the Griz will beat the Cats since the Cats aren't playing any better than UM at the moment.Silenoz wrote: If we end the last of our 3 big streaks this year (playoffs, conference titles), it will be kind of a relief in some ways. The auto-bid is already out the window. The conference title streak is virtually gone, as well. Montana needs EWU to lose to Idaho State at home to have a chance there.
Re: UM-MSU....Playoffs?
Rob Ash is a good coach and has MSU headed in the right direction. Even if MSU doesn't make the play-offs, he's going nowhere, IMO.cats2506 wrote:I dunno, considering all that he has done, getting NCAA APR penalties lifted, improved recruiting & improving the culture of the MSU football team I dont think it is the end if he doesn't make it. The powers that be hired him to do those things first so I dont see them firing him if he doesn't get to the playoffs. The fans of course are another story, and he will be under a lot of pressure from them if it doesn't happen. A lot of fans will give some leadway though because the days of the drug arrests, and SI articles are still pretty vivid in our memories.Silenoz wrote:If MSU misses the playoffs (pulls a UNI as it were), how close to the hot seat is Rob Ash? this coming from a fanbase that yells Eat Sh@t Grizzlies, Go Cats Go at EVERY GAME and you even had a Griz doll being dragged behind a float at homecoming......except you were playing Portland State. Griz need to worry about getting past MSU the first time more than meeting MSU a 2nd time......

It wasn't smack, I was just pointing out that saying Griz/Cat sounds awkward, much like saying jelly and peanut butter (most people say peanut butter and jelly...). It wasn't a smack attempt, sorry if it came off that way (I can see how you could take it that way).putter wrote:this coming from a fanbase that yells Eat Sh@t Grizzlies, Go Cats Go at EVERY GAME and you even had a Griz doll being dragged behind a float at homecoming......except you were playing Portland State.
