UM-MSU....Playoffs?
I know this is a long ways off but it seems like this could be the year that they meet up in the Brawl of the Wild and then in the playoffs as well.
Does it happen?
Will it be bigger than the Brawl?
Will Alpha show up?
Or perhaps more importantly...does AZ show up?
Will it be a "jumping of the shark" moment in the UM/MSU history?

Wouldn't that require MSU to win in the playoffs?grizzaholic wrote:it seems like this could be the year that they meet up in the Brawl of the Wild and then in the playoffs as well.

I do believe we made it to the quarter finals the last time we were in the playoffs in 0689Hen wrote:Wouldn't that require MSU to win in the playoffs?grizzaholic wrote:it seems like this could be the year that they meet up in the Brawl of the Wild and then in the playoffs as well.

How awesome it would be if the Committee sent MSU to Delaware....and MSU won! 89 would kill himself.canyoncat wrote:I do believe we made it to the quarter finals the last time we were in the playoffs in 0689Hen wrote: Wouldn't that require MSU to win in the playoffs?. Had to travel to App State where we lost to the best team in the country like everyone else. If we make the playoffs this year (we will) and if we are able to host, the Cats will WIN! Then we will see what happens. MSU will be no worse than 8-3.

Like last time a Big Sky came to Newark?grizzaholic wrote:How awesome it would be if the Committee sent MSU to Delaware....and MSU won! 89 would kill himself.
How awesome it would be if Katy Perry came your house... and had sex with you! More likely than your scenario.
Here's a trivia question for you... when was the last time the Hens played a Big Sky opponent in the playoffs and didn't score 49 points on the way to victory?

Re: UM-MSU....Playoffs?
CAA CAA
Back on topic, I think we could actually sell out a playoff game for once if it happens! Assuming we're at home. Of course knowing how hard it is to beat a team twice, I'd be extremely nervious if my team won the brawl and then had to face the same team 2-3 weeks later

Not our fault if the Big Sky teams don't last long enough in the playoffs to make another trip.mlbowl wrote:... just 11 short seasons ago...seems like yesterday.89Hen wrote:Like last time a Big Sky came to Newark?![]()

And don't fuck up my thread you labia. This was supposed to be about MSU/UM and what could possibly happen this year so if you have nothing to do but hijack and stir up shit, go dig in your backyard and bury your head.

Grandpa...tell me about the time the Mighty Hens went to Missoula and destroyed those terrible Grizzly Bears 49 to 48!

Not bitter at all, 89, it happened 18 seasons ago

I'm sorry too grizza. I didn't mean to hijack your fantasy thread. It's really Montana State's fault anyway. 1-3 in the playoffs in the last 20 years really limits your chances of meeting.grizzaholic wrote:Not you. Re: UM-MSU....Playoffs?
Can't argue with that. We'll get there and a lot sooner than most think. Probably not this year unless the defense does a complete 180 in the next three weeks. We are supposed to get three of our better defenders back so we'll see what happens.89Hen wrote:I'm sorry too grizza. I didn't mean to hijack your fantasy thread. Re: UM-MSU....Playoffs?
Unless MSU can get their defense fixed ie get healthy then they will struggle to get the wins necessary to make the playoffs.
Higgins has gone off before in blizzard conditions and just torched MSU before and it can happen again with our defense. Got a lot of work to do before then starting with Idaho State.

If MSU misses the playoffs (pulls a UNI as it were), how close to the hot seat is Rob Ash? I figure next season would be playoffs-or-bust
Re: UM-MSU....Playoffs?
I dunno, considering all that he has done, getting NCAA APR penalties lifted, improved recruiting & improving the culture of the MSU football team I dont think it is the end if he doesn't make it. The powers that be hired him to do those things first so I dont see them firing him if he doesn't get to the playoffs. The fans of course are another story, and he will be under a lot of pressure from them if it doesn't happen. A lot of fans will give some leadway though because the days of the drug arrests, and SI articles are still pretty vivid in our memories.Silenoz wrote:If MSU misses the playoffs (pulls a UNI as it were), how close to the hot seat is Rob Ash? My best guess is that AZ is just about guaranteed to show up should Griz-Cat II take place in the Chipper.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
