That wouldn't get them in? Even though GPI rankings wise the MVFC is 2nd? Just curious, no need for the Big Sky people to get pissy.
I think they deserve to get in, I've been a big proponent of SDSU getting in at 7-4 because of how impressive that would be with their schedule. I just won't be shocked if it doesn't happen.
And yes, 8-3 NDSU is an outside shot depending how the rest of the things play out

If WIU (8-3) and NDSU (8-3) win out, WIU and UNI (7-4) would be tied for the conference title at 6-2, NDSU would be 5-3. So with 4 extra playoff teams this year, NDSU would have an outside chance with 8 DI wins. Maybe they would take a 7th CAA team at 7-4 over a 3rd MVFC team.

You do realize that there will be at least one 7 win team in the playoffs, probably even 2 or possibly 3. But an 8 win NDSU team would have an outside shot, so clouded with hate Clenz. It is sad.

No hate.
The fact is is SDSU gets to 7-4, NDSU can't get to 8-3. I see SDSU at 7-4 more than I see NDSU at 8-3

When you word it like that it makes a lot more sense. I thought you were saying if NDSU was 8-3 they would have an outside shot at making the playoff field.

Anyone who has watched FCS football the last five years knows that three letters dictate who wins the playoffs. Those letters are C A A.
Jacksonville state plays NOBODY. They got a one point win - which was fantastic - against a down Ole Miss team and then beat up on a bunch of teams that would lose to Villanova's second team.
James Madison and UMass are both better than most of the teams in the top 25. The reality is the CAA is the only place where the teams have D-1 (FBS) talent consistently across the board.
Delaware, William and Mary, Villanova, and New Hampshire are the class of the FCS division. Add in App State, Montana, and you have the teams that matter in the playoffs.

Last 5 years, eh?
Well, App State was won 3 of the last 5 national titles. CAA has only won 2 of the last 5.

Yeah thats right i'm a douche for telling the truth.
Point taken about App state, but hasnt a CAAteam been in each of those final games? I must have forgotten the 2 out of 4 CAA semi-finalists who got stuck playing each other last year. Jacksonville State barely beat Georgia Friggin State, who isnt even in the CAA yet, this deep in the season; they play nobody. Same for Stephen F. Austin. As far as I'm concerned they should get a handicap for playing in these weak conferences against garbage.
Look at recent playoffs. Montana annihilated the current number 4 team 51-0 in the first game. Last year WM annihilated Weber State and Southern Illinois by a combined 60 plus points to 6.
CAA teams get punished for playing in the most competitive conference in the country against teams that will beat all of these nobodies out west.

They get punished? The CAA has continually had the most teams in the playoffs.

Yeah, I think App is the only team that has room to talk against the CAA.
The last time a team not from the CAA and not named Appalachian State won a national title was 2002.

I guess you figure every team in the CAA should go to the playoffs?
I like the idea of NDSU getting in if they only win 2 of the last 3 but I think its unlikely. At the very least we sure wouldnt be in control of our own destiny with 4 losses. Beating kansas is a big deal but it only goes so far. Other teams would have to collapse. There are just too many ways a 4 loss NDSU team would be left out, but good arguments have been made both ways.
The only way NDSU is in for sure is to win out. I dont see too many, if any way they would be left out if they could do that.

A 7-3 NAU. It's not them, the Big Sky will not get 4 teams in.

Exactly the reason the MVFC could get 4. Because it is a well balanced conference top to bottom playing at a high level.
