It has nothing to do with beating Montana in the NC. :coffee:
And again, out of the SEVEN times a CAA team has made it to the semis in the last four years, only TWICE was is the case of a cupcake and fellow CAA team. A Big Sky team has made the semis three times in the last four years and one of those trips was thanks to a cupcake and fellow Big Sky team.

CAA = 2 of 7
Big Sky = 1 of 3

Who has it happen more often?

Funny that you guys bitch about having to play your own teams in the playoffs in one thread, then in another you bitch because you don't play each other enough to get more teams in the semis.

It's like shooting fish in a barrel. One would think folks like Z, who knows how this will end, wouldn't fall back into the barrel, but here we are again in 2010. I almost feel bad for webfan, but he has to be indoctrinated at some point. ;)

Yes, but you stated it as though it's illogical to not see advantages on one topic as well as disadvantages and that's what I didn't get?

If your lobbying for the BSC teams then you may want to see them on opposite sides of the bracket so they don't have to meet and can have the chance to make hay if the chips fall right.

We only get 2 in normally so having them play each other in the quarters guarantees that no more than one can make the semi's.

Now on the other side...if the BSC were to get 4 in then the disadvantage of meeting in the quarters or the semi's would be negated because at that point no matter what happens it turns into an advantage for the conference in having a team go further.

You can surely see that with one perspective the advantages and disadvantages are different.

That's why I gave up trying to have an honest conversation on the subject because you want to turn it into something that I wasn't disputing in the first place. I ain't your rube like the new guys so I just decided to give it up but then the last comment about people arguing both ways looked like a chance to clarify the point.

See, yet another BCS poster who doesn't like facts. :|

2009 - Montana/EWU on one side, Weber on the other
2008 - Montana and Weber met in the Q's
2007 - Montana and EWU would have met in the semis
2006 - Montana and Montana State in opposite brackets
2005 - Montana and EWU would have met in the semis
2004 - Montana and EWU would have met in the semis
2003 - Montana and NAU would have met in the semis, MSU on opposite side

So, only TWO times in SEVEN years was there even a possibility for a Big Sky Quarterfinal and only ONE time did it actually happen.

I don't get why it matters if BSC teams or any other team meet each other in the quarterfinals or early on in the playoffs. The playoffs are meant to determine the best team. If a BSC team beats another BSC team in the quarterfinals... then the team that lost isn't the best team. It doesn't matter if it comes in the first round or the championship game.

No you don't get it again. I ain't gonna try anymore either since you go right back to your same thing when I've said fairly clearly that I am not trying to have a dick measuring contest on the matter. :thumb:

Skelly, I'd be happy talking about individual team accomplishments but I think you know that to try and draw a CAA fan into a talk like that is tough to do so I was trying to cross over and work on it from their perspective. :thumb:

You didn't mean to say you normally get 2 teams in and they normally meet in the quarters and therefore you normally don't get many teams into the semis? I'm not sure what I'm not getting.

No you don't when talking about your team instead of a conference.

You do have that 49-48 though.

Too long ago for my liking. Next year's incoming recruits weren't born when that game happened. We need another game. :thumb:

No doubt. I was just thinking how bad it's gonna suck if the Griz move up because with the App, McNeese, and other games being locked up that it would be cool to see some series with the CAA again...especially Delaware.

I think the SoCon is a two-bid league. That's too bad because I'm sure our top teams could take a few CAA's down. Elon goes to OT with Richmond, and Elon is the fourth best SoCon team at best.

I think you have real strong teams this year and I'll bet you guys get three, at least the way it looks right now.
