Either he knew that the words "shovel ready" were a lie when he uttered them, or he is the most colosally incompetent idiot to ever have occupied the white house. He has indeed proven himself to be incompetent, but I believe he knew the words to be false when he uttered them.

Not sure what the definition of “shovel ready” is…with respect to if an infrastructure project had to be completely designed or nearing completion of design to qualify, but a few of the project I have been on have received funding from the Fed. (At least I was told they received funding, I have no way of knowing other than the clients giving green lights to proceed with and complete design.) Whether or not that came from the stimulus package that was passed or some other funding program is beyond me.

I don’t know about there not being “shovel ready” projects. I’ve seen some instances where projects were completely designed, but put on a shelf due to lack of funding, uncompetitive bids, too high of a big/cost and just a client being hesitant to pull the trigger on proceeding with construction. Basically some of these types of projects could have been built if some funding came through from somewhere, but it’s in the Times so obviously I am wrong.

Most insane ways the Obama Regime has spent stimulus money (in addition to the stimulus checks for 89,000 dead people and prisoners):

-Taxpayer money for a program to teach Africans how to wash their genitals.
-Taxpayer money for Sri Lankan outsourcing training centers (i.e. to train Sri Lankans how to replace Americans at American jobs).
-Taxpayer money to bus Mexicans into New Mexico for free education.
-Taxpayer money for clean-energy windmill program in China.
-Taxpayer money for minority construction projects which deliberately exclude white construction workers.

IMO, Obama really believed it, as we saw with Bush, the head and tail don't always communicate. Some one down chain of command had shovel ready on paper, and Obama and his staff actually believed it.

Obama's friends performed loyally, and now they have to face the truth that the stimulus is not merely a failure, it was a fake.

Nearly everyone who posts is more honest and demonstrates more intelligence, good faith, fair play, decency and grasp of facts than you, Cap. I am not willing to go quite that far, Appaholic. I think sometimes politicians - even Obama - are earnest in their attempts at public service. I just think that this instance was a deliberate sham.
