pretty cool highlights but i never thought i'd see UM carrying a player off the field for winning a game against portland state. then again weber rushed the field after beating UNC.

So, in watching that video i notice just a few small things we need to work on:

Tackling (JESUS we suck at that)
Ball security
Special Teams
Pass catching
play selection (a statue of liberty play? REALLY? What is this, Pop Warner?)

We've got a LONG way to go....these coaches need to pull their heads out of their collective asses....

On the positive side, Chase looked pretty good, and TJ running back kicks.... :notworthy: :notworthy:

I guess the elite teams in the conference will find ways to win games......case in point, yesterday UM @ PSU, EWU @ UNC.

Couple of costly TO's cost PSU that game, but they look damn good this year. I'm really worried about them and Sac.

I've been thinking the whole season that the play calling is just like when a kid discovers Madden. "Ohhh, that play looks fun. Hmmm. Didn't work, how about I try it to the other side. Hmmm. How about this trick play, bet I fool the computer big time."

The part that killed me last night was when they were going to get Kavario Middleton a touchdown even if it forced them to kick a FG...which it did. They tried to force the ball to the TE on three plays in a row. Even the BSTV announcer said, "They sure want to throw the ball to that TE." I thought it was cool they were trying to get him a TD, just do it when he is open.

Now I am the first to admit I couldn't hold a candle to any of the coaches, but I HAVE watched enough football in my day to at least offer an opinion that the play calling is all or nothing right now.

Schools spend a lot of money to get the right coach. They should realize by now that, in all the years of organized football, the fans in the stands and the ones watching the game on TV/internet know a helluva lot more than the yayhoo on the sideline.

Especially after a play does not work.  :thumb:

I think I saw Roper look at the receiver and then look at another that was open. Nope I was wrong looking again he stares at one guy per play.

NAU DB's ...when Roper drops back and looks at a receiver just dump your man and run to the one guy he's staring at and you'll win.

Let the kid in and allow him to use the whole play book for a series or two....lets see what happens...can't be any worse.

A thought I have on QB Roper, coming from someone who never saw him play until this game and hadn't followed him all year...

For someone who can lead his team, who had just lost the lead on the road to a team that you (probably) should have had no problem beating, and who had admittedly not played too well up to this point, to lead the team down the field in the last couple minutes for the winning field goal speaks high in volume to me. I was amazed at the poise Roper had on that final drive. Griz fans can debate over and over about how they should not have been in that position, but it was what it was, and Roper took the opportunity and headed down the field.

For as beleaguered as both offenses looked, I was impressed with Kavanaugh leading the Vikings down the field to take the lead and I was equally as impressed with Roper on the Grizzlies final drive for the win.

Careful AZ, alpha may hear you and take offense to that. Don't you know that we now have a great coach and this brand of football is going to skyrocket the Griz to a NC (I hope so)..... :dunce:
