Athletic Director Jim O'Day: The University of Montana is one of only 11 NCAA Division I schools with custom-designed Nike football uniforms this year. The others: Alabama, Ohio State, Boise State, Texas Christian University, Florida, Virginia Tech, Miami, Pitt, West Virginia and Oregon State. Oregon has its own special deal.

They look similar but the pants are totally different, they are custom Nike uniforms that UM were selected to design, yes we are that special. More reason to envy, and hate. to our awesomeness.

Guys...these are just jerseys. I have felt the material. They are extremely stretchy and insane material. If anything...these are not for the superficial look...they actually are comfortable for the players. I think they look great and I love the helmets being a bit darker as well on the griz. The players are playing in truly top notch uniforms. So let's let the players have the fun with this one

I'm a huge fan of the new griz jerseys, of course i'm 21 years old and am in with the new style of things, but even going past that, i love that the players had a say in the design of the new jerseys. I know people will bitch about black not being a school color, but neither is white. Copper, silver and gold were our colors, now we're with the maroon and s***. Times change, colors change, s*** changes. It's still Montana, they're still winning, they're still our team.

The players are having fun and winning (so far) and i think they'll keep it that way. What their jersey's look like shouldnt be the biggest deal ever, Montana changes uniforms like lady gaga changes outfits at a concert, if you dont like their current jerseys, you'll likely only have to put up with this one until next year.

Exactly. Montana's and App State's didn't look like this years because THEY WERE LAST YEARS DESIGN! Go look at last years pro combat for those schoools, the only thing different for Montana was the colors used and the lack of a stripe here or there.


This years pro combat for the teams that got them were different, Montana didn't get anything special this year. In fact that got last years throw away design.

Don't know if I would go with the stripe on the helmet but even that I would be able to live with. You should seriously show it to someone at UM.

Thanks. I really liked our previous unis, but felt they needed a helmet stripe and stripes on the pants to go with it. The plain silver pants sucked to be honest. So much potential with the previous ones that wasn't payed attention to. That's why I did this concept the way I did. Combine the old with the new.

And if no one noticed, I used Grizo as my model.
