Poll: Big Sky Week 7

Post by weberwildcat »

Sorry to affend the UNC Bear fan but the poll is back...

who wins this week? ive noticed the last couple of polls a majority of votes went against EWU to beat Weber and NAU. Im wondering if that will change or maybe it depends on TJ's health...

EWU @ UNC
MSU @ NAU
WSU @ ISU
UM @ PSU

Sac has the week off

Weber's QB Higgins need to average 244 passing yards per game over the final six games to become the league’s all-time leading passer.

IN THE POLLS: Montana State climbed to No. 9 in this week’s Sports Network/Fathead.com rankings. The Bobcats were 10th last week, and remained 10th this week in the FCS Coaches’ Poll. Montana climbed one spot in both polls to 11. Eastern Washington is now 12th in both polls.

SKY IN THE SAGARIN: The Big Sky Conference moved to No. 1 among FCS conferences in this week’s Sagarin Ratings. The Big Sky is rated 11th overall among Division I conferences, ahead of Bowl Subdivision conferences the MAC (13) and the Sun Belt (18).

EWU @ UNC

EWU is 6-1 vs UNC, only loss was back when they were both DII

MSU @ NAU

The home team hasn't won in this series since 2005. MSU is 21-23 all-time vs the jacks.

WSU @ ISU

Weber has only lost to the Potatoes 2 times in the past 25 yrs. 1984 and 2002 when they had Jared Allen.

UM @ PSU

Adams' are 26-11 vs the 11-Kings w/ its last loss in 2004 in Portland.

UNC isn't going to do anything until they replace Downing. EWU is about as close to a lock in this game as anyone can expect in any game.

NAU-MSU is a case where what I WANT to happen is NOT what is likely to happen. Sure, an NAU win (which I would like to see) is possible (much more so than UNC over EWU), but I still think the Kitties will take down the Jacks.

WSU-ISU will look like EWU-UNC with Weber in the role of EWU.

PSU is on the upswing now, but it won't be enough to take down the fifteen-year elite team of the conference.

In an oddity, all road teams win (yeah they're all favorites, but the only one I see even being close is MSU @ NAU).

Give the road teams 5-10 points and things could get interesting.

EWU over UNC - EWU should roll. Given that the Hornets play EWU in 2 weeks, it will be interesting to see how much TJ is used. I would think the coaches would use him sparingly to give him as much rest as possible.
WSU over ISU - WSU should roll unless they actually kick the ball to TMo.
UM over PSU - Could be closer than we all think. PSU has a chance to at least make it a game.
MSU over NAU - Could go either way. Definitely the BSC game of the week.

I would be really surprised to see him play at all against UNC. He was nowhere near 100% when he played against NAU, and I think they're just going to hold him out of this game in the hopes that he will be ready to go against Sac State. We can run the ball pretty well without him using the combination of Beaumonte and Brown, and I expect to see more of that this week. TJ just needs to sit down for a while and not keep aggravating his injury. :thumb:

Yeah but these are the same coaches that sent him back onto the field after possibly having a concussion. (According to some speculation at least.)

He was thought to have a concussion after the hit in the CWU game, and didn't go back in. After being examined/tested thoroughly, it was found that he did not have any symptoms/signs of a concussion, hence why he played the next week. JFC.

Judging by the votes would you all take NAU over MSU as the week's best chance for an "upset"?

2008 was the year that the Weber kicker placed a kickoff through the uprights in Pocatello! What a hoot!
