I don't think UNI cared about any game other than Iowa last year sadly.
Right. Instead of practicing and studying film of upcoming opponents, the players and coaches all just sat around and reminisced about week 1.
I could see a game like that adversely affecting games prior to it (not applicable in that case), as players are looking ahead instead of concentrating on the current opponent. And maybe affecting the next week. But beyond that, no.
Clenz, we just beat another D-1 team in OT...off the haterade yet??????????? Not sure how we will do on the road but I am interested to see how it goes!

It's clear Indiana State fans don't know how to handle more than one D1 win a season
After Week 7, 40 of the 106 FCS teams have been eliminated from consideration for an at-large bid. Southern Illinois is the third 2009 playoff participant to be eliminated in the 2010 season. There are now 26 additional teams on the bubble that cannot lose a remaining D1 game. Jacksonville State is the first team to reach 7 D1 wins.
Bubble Teams (26) - Cal Poly, Central Arkansas, Coastal Carolina, Davidson, Drake, Gardner-Webb, Georgetown, Holy Cross, Illinois State, Indiana State, Marist, McNeese State, Missouri State, Monmouth, Morehead State, Morgan State, Murray State, Portland State, Rhode Island, Sacramento State, South Carolina State, South Dakota State, Southeastern Louisiana, Tennessee State, Texas State, Youngstown State
Eliminated in Week 7 - Austin Peay, Bryant, Campbell, Eastern Kentucky, Maine, Norfolk State, Samford, South Dakota, Southern Illinois, St. Francis (PA), Stony Brook, Virginia Military Institute, Western Carolina
Eliminated in Week 6 - Bucknell, Charleston Southern, Citadel, Delaware State, Elon, Fordham, Howard, Lafayette, Nicholls State, North Carolina Central, North Dakota, Northern Colorado, Sacred Heart, San Diego, Tennessee-Martin, Towson

The Sycamores have definitely improved this year over past seasons (and it's about frickin time).
However, with the two sub-DI wins, INS still would need to win out to be eligible for an at-large consideration, which is what this thread is about.
Woahh I was just talking about how he was saying "Yeah they are better, they beat quincy and Saint Josephs Woooooooot..." I wasn't saying we would make the playoffs...
CatMom wrote:Texas State is officially in the bubble and if this week was an indication, we might be out next week at this time. Just pathetic.
Other SLC teams on the bubble McNeese, & Southeastern. Hell, we are close to eliminating the whole conference
Considering the playoff history of the SLC in the last few years, What difference would it make???
Did I ask for your comment? No! Ya know what? I'm still pissed over this and I don't need CAA assholes replying. (sorry I know it's ok but I'm just mad!)
We have talent on our team to match any in the country and the coaching staff is just wasting it. Our O line can't open up a hole for the running game but other than that the team is suffering because of what they are being told to do. We won without a running game last year. Vanilla play calling is killing us, along with them being unwilling to put Hawkins in, at all. Here's a guy that has been here 2 years, knows the whole playbook, was the # 1 from the end of the SAM game last year, through spring, summer and fall drills...can run, throw (accurately) do wildcats and they have him standing on the sidelines...why? Who the fuck knows? Hawkins is multi-talented but hasn't seen PT since the second game.
Folks on BCF say...oh the kid (Arndt) needs the game experience. I say...we need wins! If you have 300 yds passing and only 3 TDs (and one was a rushing TD) something ain't right. We got shut down from 16, 20 and 10 yds out because they use nothing new, nothing outside the 10-12 plays that a man in his 70's, in the stands, was calling before we even snapped the ball. The offense is broke and they are sitting back watching the wheels fall off instead of trying to fix the spokes.
After Week 8, 54 of the 106 FCS teams have been eliminated from consideration for an at-large bid. There are now 14 additional teams on the bubble that cannot lose a remaining D1 game. In the 2009 season, there were 27 teams that reached the 7 D1 win mark.
Bubble Teams (14) - Albany, Cal Poly, Central Arkansas, Drake, Georgia State, Holy Cross, McNeese State, Missouri State, Monmouth, Morehead State, Morgan State, Murray State, Northern Arizona, South Carolina State, South Dakota State, UC Davis

With a loss to UC-Davis (Mustangs choked bad in the 4th quarter) Cal Poly is now eliminated from getting into the playoffs essentially since only having 6 D1 wins on their schedule. This opens the door for several bubble teams including Montana who if they beat the Bobcats this Saturday i think will get in along with EWU and MSU making them a 3 bid conference. However if the Griz lose to the Cats i dont see them making the playoffs and seeing one of the other teams on the bubble make the jump.

Yup. If the Griz beat the Bobcats, the Big Sky is pretty much a lock for three teams in the post season. Otherwise, it's EWU and MSU.
Oh, and Weber if they beat Texas Tech.

BTW, as an interesting aside, this could have been the year that if it weren't for the Bayou Classic, we could have seen a SWAC team actually get an invite to the playoffs. If Grambling were to have played and beaten Southern this week instead of next week, they would be 9-2 with a close loss to LaTech and an OT loss to Texas Southern who is going to represent the SWAC West in the SWAC CG.

I don't know what that is. If anyone has the time, this needs to be taken from where SumitUp left off after Week 9 where 7 teams had already qualified. How many have qualified after 11 weeks? I know it is more than the 10 you showed because you did not list Old Dominion (not that we will actually get into the field of 20).
Given that Sac has a win vs Weber, if Weber pulls the upset AND the Kitties win (I assure you that the second half of that will NOT happen), does Sac get in?
I doubt it. Those we lost to and how close those losses were should get SOME consideration.
Of course, this all will be moot after the Griz bury the Kitties.
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
After Week 11, only one week remains. 74 of the 106 FCS teams have been eliminated from consideration for an at-large bid. There are now 14 additional teams on the bubble that cannot lose their last game next week. In the 2009 season, there were 27 teams that reached the 7 D1 win mark. 19 Teams have reached 7 D1 wins so far this season with one week to play.
Bubble Teams (13) - Central Connecticut State, Chattanooga, Colgate, Duquesne, Georgia Southern, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, Richmond, South Carolina State, Villanova, Weber State, Western Illinois
