Hello everyone. This week is probably one of the biggest (if not the biggest game) on both these teams schedules at this point in the season. Cal Poly is coming into Cedar City on their 5th road game in a row to face a T-Bird team brimming with confidence after beating a tough ND squad. To say that this has been a frustrating season for SUU is an understatement after losing 3 very close games by 1 score and a good Texas state team, our 2-4 record does not indicate how good of a team we really are.
Im posting this on here to see what everyone thinks of this game which i feel could very well decide the GWC Championship. If SUU wins will Cal Polys playoff hopes be crushed? If SUU wins out would they have a shot at getting an at large berth? Things like that and more can be discussed here in what is a very pivotal game this season for both teams. However being an SUU fan i have to go for my T-Birds at home in a very good and very close game.

SUU can't get 7 D-I wins.

SUU have always given Cal Poly a good game no matter the records. This one has me very concerned because we have to be a little road weary after 4 straight road games coming into this one. To make matters worse, we are taking a bus and not flying. I think it is a 10 hour bus trip.
I agree that SUU is much better team than their record shows. I am sure they also have this game circled after losing a game in SLO last season that I am sure they felt they should have won. I do think that the team that wins this game will have a leg up on the Great West Championship, but USD and UCD are still tough teams we both will need to contend with. Cal Poly also has to still face UND. This is a critical game for Cal Poly. Win and we are looking good for the playoffs. Lose and we put our playoff chances in jeopardy.
I think it will be another great game between two good teams. I'll be there cheering on my Mustangs.

Correct. In most years, the selection committee uses 7 D-I wins as the minimum threshold for an at-large invitation to the playoffs. There are always deserving 7-win teams that get left out. There is no chance for a 6-win team.

You are correct AZ i just noticed that, just as i feared earlier this season i believe we scheduled ourselves out of the playoffs . Going to be hoping for at least a winning season at this point in the season and a GWC championship.
-SUU driving to start the third, just got a huge pass to Poots to the Cal Poly 10, up 14-0. just heard there are 8,219 people at the stadium glad to hear attendance is up!
-3rd and goal @ the 5, injury for Cal Poly stops play.
-QB draw with Sorenson to the 2 yard line, going for field goal
-Field Goal good, SUU up 17-0 with about 10 minutes left in the 3rd, Poots is having a hell of a day as usual.

Dear Lord, We come before you and humbly ask you to grant our prayer for a veil of protection to be placed over Donald Trump. May your will be done. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
Excellent play by the Thunderbirds!! Good win over a highly regarded team and a nice giant step toward a conference title. Is this the beginning of the big slide for the Mustangs? Cal Poly might be replaying last year?

Well congratulations to SUU they kicked the crud out of my Mustangs today. Personally I don't think it is the beginning of any slide. We are on our 5th of 5 game roady... We have injuries. SUU is a good team. We will see but I'd still bet the Mustangs are in the playoff hunt in a few weeks. I'd also bet SUU is a top 25 team by seasons end if not sooner.
